  The entire Potemkin Village of "folksy" culture that most modern Country Western music represents is as bogus as Hank up on stage, shillin' for The Man.

  I don't mean real country music...I mean the shit that just mindlessly revels in some presumed theme and claims to be art, in any way. You can say the same thing about Rap and most other kinds of popular music. But I guess it always blew me away about Country because the whole culture of it is supposed to be about some less-complicated but wise aspect of America which industrialization had steered us away from.

  And then ya have Hank, fellating Todd and Sarah on stage. Hank's brand of folksy wisdom apparently sucks the dick of big money and ignorance.

Seems like a strange song to want to associate with your candidates. Drinking, drugging and hard living = Republican family values? I'm sure I'm not the only one who heard the original in my head when he started singing that crappy new McCain-Palin Tradition version. And I'm not the only one who thought it was an odd choice.
