1. There is no such thing as "CLEAN COAL"...
Here in Wise County, Virginia we can't afford any more mountains blown up to gouge out the coal to ship to China to feed their behemoth coal fired power plants to power their business, industry and schools. Our water shed is being polluted with toxic metals, main street looks like a third world country in Appalachia and Pound. Our schools are so old and out dated they don't even have the power sources to run the latest technology our kids deserve. Wise County should look like Dubai instead of a toxic waste dump. http://www.wisecountyissues.com

We also hear all the talk about affordable health care. We need affordable and acceptable health care too. Did you know in the state of Tennessee HORRIFYING health care is considered "acceptable standards of health care" in East Tennessee, and apparently after a patient lays and rots in a Tennessee hospital it's okay to send these MRSA/VRE patients right into our communities ! http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/timmullins

3. You are so right.
When I lived in West Virginia, I worked as an environmental tester for a coal company. I water tested settling ponds and streams below them. I kept rainfall records as well as taking temperature readings 3X a day. Whenever I hear someone say 'clean coal', I always say 'there's no such thing'. It took insane amounts of water to 'clean' the coal, then that water sat in settling ponds. I never saw any of that water released because the polluting particles don;t 'settled' out.

2. Lets rally WV!!!
I'm an import from Maryland and actually only live just across the potomac so I don't know a whole lot about WV politics, but I see NO reason Sen. Obama can't take this beautiful state. Are there really that many racist "dems" in WV?

We have 2 Dem Senators, a Dem house, and a Dem Governor, whom according to a poll I saw yesterday is ahead by 50pts in his reelection bid!!! (71-21) Unless somehow McLame duped West Virginians into believing Obama is going to abandon coal, I don't see why anyone here would connect w/ the McLame/Failin ticket.?.

I still have hope for WV this year though. Lets do this damn thing Mountaineers! Yes We Can :patriot:
