1. Don't go making fun of the infirm, it's not nice.
He got 4, didn't he? That's pretty darn good for a man of his advanced age.

2. His entire performance was embarrassing.
He couldn't explain his changed position on taxes, he couldn't recall names of Secretaries of State, he was a mess. However, Tom Brokaw never challenged the contention that Obama's plan is a tax increase. That's such BS. I never got a tax cut under Bush, so the cuts could expire from now to eternity and my taxes wouldn't go up. What a jack ass.

Now that Russert's gone, I think that MTP should revert to the format implied by its title: make the guests respond to a panel of press members not just the same guy that you can be sure week to week won't do that much follow-up. I'll think it would be much more exciting and probing.

11. I've said it before,
the only think about MTP that is similar to the original show is the name.

26. Hey, that is ...er, WAS
my sig line you've got there ....

here's to your good taste ... and one of my favorite justices - in fact I am writing a paper on him for my graduate Con. Law class. ... well, actually I am procrastinating instead of writing my paper, so I had better get to work. :hi:

28. Thanks!
Hi there. I love this quote. Have had it in my sig line at least since 2006, but was considering changing it soon just to be different. But now I may keep it for a little while longer. :-)

Too bad we don't have any justices of his caliber today. IMO, Stevens, Breyer, Ginsburg, and Souter are just too moderate to give true intellectual and philosophical diversity to the court. :-(

I want President Obama to nominate Morris Dees or someone who is similarly outspoken about the protections the Constitution should provide to the poor and dispossessed (not another namby-pamby moderate). S/he will get outvoted every time, but at least the liberal point of view will have to be considered.

Good luck on your paper. :hi:

14. He should be ashamed of airing Rush on network TV
clearly he is just giving the McCain campaign more of a "fair shake" but broadcasting Rush telling the minions how to think.

15. Odd that that little interaction is not on the MSNBC web site where you can view today's show
It starts right with the poll info on that clip there, not the bumbling part that went before.

16. I watched this and it was excruciating.
My favorite part was when he referred to the retired generals who support him as "retired flags".

Seriously, if I was a typical casual voter with no partisan commitment, McCain's performance on Meet The Press would make me squirm in my seat.

It was kind of like if you were watching a movie at a theater and the person next to you kept farting.

25. He shouldn't be proud of Al Haig.
"I'm in charge here!" Al Haig? The four martyred churchwomen were just lost and deserved being raped and murdered and then left in a ditch Al Haig? Yeah, I wouldn't be proud of that guy.
