I think that's pretty much acknowledged on both counts.

Sorry...That's the first thing I think of when I hear the Ride of the Valkyries...

in their yards. They received via mail a photo of a man hunched over shining a woman's shoes. Obama's face is pasted onto the man's body, Sarah Palin's on the woman's body, and on the back of the photo someone wrote "Here's a good job for your n****r." I am sickened and repulsed that this has happened here in Central Oregon, or anywhere, of course. I could hope that whoever did this would be ashamed, but I realize that won't happen. The post office says there's nothing they can do about it, which figures. Free speech is free speech, after all. The perpetrators may not be ashamed of their actions, but I'm ashamed to be in the same county as they are, and in fact, the same state (my wonderful Oregon) not to mention the same planet.

This ugliness may be happening elsewhere, but if you go to www.bendbulletin.com you can read the article. I'm a "link-post dummy" but the Bulletin site will get you there. I know DUers like to have links available.

Anyway--interesting images from a classic early film. Just when we think all that's behind us...Sigh!
