Dennis is really pulling no punches. I'm sure he'll catch a lot of flak for harshly criticizing other Democrats on Iraq, but, God damn it, he is right. This may not be the nicest or most politically savvy way to go about making his point. However, he was right all along with regards to Iraq, he is right now, and I support him 100%.

1. Kucinich is a loser who said yesterday he wanted to ban handguns.
"Accordingly, I am drafting a bill to ban the purchase, sale, transfer or possession of handguns by civilians." See http://frwebgate.access.gpo.gov/cgi-bin/getpage.cgi?position=all&page=H3440&dbname=2007_record

2. Well I guess we can just throw all his other policies out the window then can't we?
Let me make sure I've got this straight. According to you he is for gun control (which I am personally undecided on), so he's a loser. That's it?

How many lives would have been saved if everyone in Congress had the foresight and the political nerve to say no to this bullshit war?

I don't agree with him on everything (fox news), but I like to have a little perspective in my life.

Peace, Universal Healthcare, and reducing the effects of globalization mean more to me than handguns.

5. I agree with his positions on other issues but trying to ban guns cost we Dems congress in the 90s &
cost Gore and Kerry the presidency.

The current Democratic Party Platform says "We will protect Americans' Second Amendment right to own firearms, and we will keep guns out of the hands of criminals and terrorists by fighting gun crime, reauthorizing the assault weapons ban, and closing the gun show loophole, as President Bush proposed and failed to do." See http://www.democrats.org/pdfs/2004platform.pdf

It would be nice if Kucinich supported that plank in the Dems platform.

7. He is a five-time congressional winner that backs a position on firearms
that I disagree with. That doesn't mean that I won't/don't support him, he is right far more often than any of his competitors on a wide variety of issues. Add this to the undisputed fact that he is far more familiar with the realities of life for those of us that do not live inside the beltway, or were born with a trust fund, than any of the candidates on either side, and he gets my vote.

The fact that he takes a stand and fights for it in the face of crushing opposition is, to me, his greatest qualification as a leader.

8. Keeping my candidate kicked....
He is right on many issues. I do not agree with everything he says/proposes but he is far closer to the ideal than the other candidates.
