Makes you proud to be from Georgia. For the record, Lynn Westmoreland, Phil Gingrey and Jack Kingston have all made their 'honor roll' for one reason or another...and now Broun. And guess what? They all earned it.

Get back from a Vacation far away from dad. Get back home and just watching one episode of Countdown.. resulted in dad send me several emails of rehashed crap.
1. I voted for the devil 2. I'm going to hell and 3. Obama is Hitler. Somehow I think under Hitler, Obama would have been gassed long ago. Thats really insulting. And the article dad based this on is some idiot called Ali Salin (sp?) who's an Atheist anyway. So how can I be voting for the devil if this Ali doesn't believe in God or the devil????

Adolph Hitler was never elected to anything. Ever. He became head of the Nazi party by getting a small group of loyalists and scaring the hell out of the moderates (well, as moderate as Nazis got, I suppose). From there he tried TWICE to get elected to government, failing both times. However he had a nice violent populist movement happening, and so to keep his thugs under control, he was appointed to some scrub-a-dub position in the Hindenburg cabinet. As Hindenburg grew more ill and unable to maintain his office, Hitler began consolidating power until, after the Reichstag fire, was granted near-total sovereignty, and then successfully grabbed what remained of the government's power for himself some months later.

Hitler. Was. Not. elected. Hitler was selected and then led a coup. This is basic fucking history. New idea! Have all of our elected representatives take a yearly test on Basic Fucking History. The fact we have congressmen who believe Hitler was the product of a democratic election is a fucking shame not just to their states and districts but to America as a goddamned nation

Hmmm Bush. Bush wasn't elected in 2000, he was selected. So technically we just got rid of Hitler. Of course this is very insulting to people of the Holocaust so think both sides on that (me included ) should bop themselves over with a bat. (no not that bat. Not Halloween anymore)

He pretty much single-handedly wrested power from Germans and consolidated it in his own hands through political maneuvering, threats of violence, and actualized violence. Oncew there he was very effective at crushing and erasing his opposition, turning Germany from a multi-party, more or less democratic Republic into a one-party proto-empire with himself holding all the strings, in a little under a year.

Bush nearly died from a rold's gold what, two weeks into his term? And believes his scottish terrier saved his life?

Hitler was the iconic asshole of history, the Ur-sphincter, if you will, of all dictators before or after. Nobody likes him, even his own relatives, to the last man, changed their goddamned name so that "Hitler" would go to cease to exist in German-speaking lands.Even the dumb-as-a-pork-sausage neo-nazi sorts are kind of iffy on the guy. Truly, Hitler's assholitude set and surpassed the standard for all fucking douchebaggery that mankind will ever know.

But he was still way fucking smarter than Bush.

Obama's plan sounds very similar to FDR's work projects that put unemployed Americans back to work during the Great Depression. At the same time, they built up communities and infrastructure.
