Something tells me this video is going to piss some of you off. I understand why but I'll say upfront that I disagree with you, *especially* in light of the disclaimers that Cenk gives.

Also, check out these new TYT clips you may have missed:

6. will someone please tell a dumbfuck like me how to k & r.
i would only add my 2 cents which would be that religion is what it is because of man's inhumanity to man. we still have a world of mostly poor, starving, mistreated people who use religion as a tool to just get thru each day. now guess what country, make that GOVERNMENT, that is most often at the forefront of saying fuck-you to the world and, therefore, fuck-you to it's people.

11. I think people don't have faith in any god...
...they merely have faith in man. They believe that what is written by the hand of man is the word of god and don't make the connection that people want power over them and use religion as a tool.

12. Right On Cenk! and major K&R
It is high time secularists fought back against religion. It is refreshing to see Bill Maher with a public forum in the mainstream talking about the idiocy of religion. If I offend religious people I truly don't care anymore. You have been offending me since I was a small child. I grew up in a hyper religious family, went to Catholic school and was made to feel less human because I questioned what they believed. I am so glad to see Cenk on the same page. Enough of this bullshit it is definitely time to fight back against religion and religious thought that keeps people in bondage worldwide. Not just the physical violence that stems from this thought but the mental and emotional violence that keeps people in chains as well. Christians can judge the Muslims and call them barbarians which they are, but 500 years ago during the Reformation you people were doing the same things and on a much larger scale.

15. you haven't listened to Wes Jr. very much, I take it.
he's been with The Turks for a looooong time, and has been a most enjoyable co-host. He doesn't pull any punches, he's got military history so he can speak of that with knowledge, he's an educated man, a writer, and he's got a sense of humor.

His dad is famous? Whatever. Try and get by it, you won't get hurt.

17. You don't have to like him but the dynasty take is a complete misread.
The guy is not even CLOSE to rich. And how many people know who he is? I even know a decent amount of self described Dems who *barely* know who his Dad is (if they do at all).

Again, I understand if you're not crazy about him as a show host but remove the so-called "dynasty" from the equation.

He comes off as cocky and interrupts others constantly. I do love me some TYT though.

ETA: I will admit that Wes Jr. did come off a lot better on this clip.

20. I like Sam Seder the best, but Ben M. is good as well.
I like Wes but I know what you mean. At any rate it's obvious that Cenk is #1 and the show is just not the same without him.

I can't wait until he comes back!

16. "Something tells me this video is going to piss some of you off"
Why would COMMON SENSE piss me off? Enthusiastic K & R.

There are 2 kinds of religious people in my book. The intelligent religious and the stupid religious. It's the stupid ones that fuck it up for everybody else, as is usual in life. I'm tired of arguing with dummies at work who think man and dinosaur walked the earth at the same time, like the Flintstones.

28. This guy's argument flitters all over.
He's right that Europe is the most secular part of the world, but he completely ignores the past and continued positive influence of religious organizations there.

He mentions China as a largely non-religious and non-violent part of the world but fails to mention that the Chinese are living in a communist dictatorship which bans both religion and violence and enforces those bans vigorously.

I agree with his main point that religious extremism (which defines its own religion as good and all others as bad) needs to be stopped wherever it happens, but to over-simplify the world into religion-bad, secularism-good isn't any better.

I notice he completely ignored South America, a very religious area of the world which is generally peaceful.

Picking and choosing examples to bolster a poorly-thought-out argument doesn't work for me.

We all like our own ideas about how the Universe works and think we're right about them. Still, who says everyone else should believe what we do except for extremists?

This was not to be a broad, detailed discussion on religion. Cenk was on vacation in Miami and he briefly called into the show to discuss the terrorist attacks in India with the guest host.

He went off on a tangent about religion, nothing more, nothing less.

If this were a specific segment discussing religion and the secular world I'd expect something more in-depth and comprehensive. But I thought it was fine in the context of the conversation.
