13. Actually he - Patterson - was elected.
The Governor and Lt. Governor are elected as a team in New York. It works like the President and VP. Well at least I think that's the way it works I might be wrong. Rachel's point is a good one - a new senator should be chosen in a special election.

7. I generally love this woman, but on this I think she does
no justice to journalism when she goes along with the lynch
crowd.

Rachel, suppose this was you the mob suddenly turns on?

Wouldn't you want your day in court, witnesses and all?
You are not helping democracy.

I went looking at Gov Blago's history on the official website.
I went looking for news to help me to understand why people
hate him, to justify somehow this lynching, aside from the
hearsay
started by Fitzgerald.

It looks to me that he works for the poor, and promotes
programs
that actually help the people. If someone could point me to
something concrete that demonstrates how terrible this guy
is, besides the fact that he uses his political will to help
those who are disenfranchised, maybe I could make some sense
of it.

But nada. No bads news could be found. Other than political
positions.
Legally, the guy has done his job.

Can someone help me out here? send me some links?

8. he is sitting in the seat that the most powerful man in illinois wants for his
daughter. mike madigan has been the speaker of the illinois house for as long as i can remember. his daughter, lisa, now the attorney general, was a candidate for gov, but lost. from day one, blaggo has met a solid wall of resistance. they have stopped at nothing to make him look like a fool, and to screw up whatever they can blame on him. mho.

i don't think he should be impeached for corruption. he is far from the most corrupt guy in illinois. he should, however, be removed because he is, as rachel says- cuckoo for cocopuffs.

9. Cuckoo for cocopuffs for trying to defend himself?
Or cuckoo for cocopuffs because of the way he runs his
administration?

Or cuckoo for cocopuffs because of the way he selected Burris,
who got seated?

Or cuckoo for cocopuffs because of the way he delivers poetry
and literature with his press? Which I think is cool.

What actually makes him cuckoo for cocopuffs?
His ability to command the attention of the press?

Just curious.

10. people that i know that have dealt with him in person
say that the elevator just does not go all the way to the top. i know the guy is basically being set up. but he is just out there very frequently.
ie- the chicago transit agency was having a budgetary crisis. after much wrangling, a compromise was finally worked out. in order to sign it, out of the clear blue sky, blaggo demanded that senior citizens be allowed to ride for free.

he is also in violation of illinois law in that it requires that the budget be balanced. he signed a budget with a deficit of, iirc, approx $1B. he is being played on this, but in the end it is his job to make the legislature sit until it comes up with a balanced budget. imho, one of the clear signs that your treasury is being looted is that a once balanced budget suddenly has a huge deficit. not saying who has their fingers in the till, just saying that i think someone does. again, if it is not blaggo, he should be stopping it.

12. Thanks, mop.
Doesn't sound cuckoo to me; complaining about the process Ill senate came up with for impeachment. If they've been after him as you say, he may GO crazy.

Its the Federal trial that should tell us something factual, but the impeachment was set up so someone else could appoint the senator, eh?

18. no- so someone else could be the governor
current ag lisa madigan and her dad want to be a tag team. i like lisa where she is. i like lisa personally. but the reason she didn't win is because no one wants lisa to be the final check on her dad. a few decades of republican governors have worked out just fine for mike. but a term and a have with a dem, not so much. they have been licking their chops waiting for him to commit a remotely impeachable act. things that make you go hmmmm.

11. the tape recording ehard round the world, where he says he wants a million dollars for obama's seat.
That's what he did. I don't believe it was hearsay. it was either a transcript or the tape itself, or both.

17. Of whom was this demand for cash made?
He said he wouldn't give it away free, but that's up for interpretation. There was no stained blue dress.
