1. Whitehouse made a good point about hiring a special prosecutor vs. a truth commission...

A special prosecutor would have a narrower focus rather than a broad look at the issues.

He also said that nothing should prevent a special prosecutor from being invoked at the proper time. And, he added, he would not be surprised if they got to the point where that would be appropriate.

As long as the truth commission didn't hand out immunity where it counts, it could be a good thing for delving into all possible avenues of prosecution. Who knows how it would branch out.

4. The more I see this guy, the more I admire him.
But I still hope at some point there is a special prosecutor--and no offer of immunity. This has to be done correctly. But I'm curious, what about statutes of limitations? He said nothing about statutes. Still, cheers to Senator Whitehouse. :toast:
