1. Moral of this story: These talking heads don't know squat about what they're talking about.
Edited on Thu Mar-05-09 06:58 AM by bulloney
From what source do these guys base their statements from? Are their sources playing them like fiddles so that they can get people to act on the market according to their plan?

Why do these clowns still have a job? They've replaced weathermen and Bill Kristol as being the most undependable source of information in their area of "expertise."

5. At the link with the full videos
Stewart and Necora discuss this. Basically it is like political shows-some talk about actual real things, some are gossip mongers, and some are just the TV element

Stewart encapsulated it perfectly "It's like CNBC is interviewing Hurricane Katrina and they say 'We understand that you may have some high winds and water' but Katrina says 'Oh no, I am full of sunshine!' and the CNBC guy says 'Oh Okay'"

6. I suppose when the CNBC guy's next paycheck depends on his squaking...
... he'll try to pump sunshine up our ass!

John Stewart should get an emmy for this exposure.

10. The Weather Channel, not CNBC
"It's like The Weather Channel interviewing Hurricane Katrina and they say 'We understand that you may have some high winds and water' but Katrina says 'Oh no, I am full of sunshine!' and the TWC guy says 'Oh Okay'"

8. My question always is
If these guys know exactly what the economy and the market are going to do, why the hell are they working? If I knew that with the certainty they have, I would just be filthy rich and playing the market all day. Why do they get up and come into an office every morning -- and tell other people how to get rich.

4. Why is Jim Kramer even on TV?
He was busted back in the 90s for pimping stocks of a company he owned.

All these guys are wanna-be journalists, at best. They looked great when things were going OK, but my 7 year old could probably have done just as good of a job.

27. Agree -- was watching it last night when they did this ---
but they're not doing stuff like this often enough or I'm not catching it

often enough?

And didn't like the Sandra Day O'Connor interview --- ! She was part of the

Gang of 5 that put Bush in White House. Shouldn't Jon at least have asked for

an apology for the way that turned out?

Meanwhile ... Colbert is driving me nuts. I know what it's supposed to be, but

he's doing it too well.

18. From a Youtube boob:
jhamm999: funny that stewie didnt show that the dow dropped 2700 points after obama took office.interesting.

**************

That IS interesting. But since Obama did not create the situation and is not a mover and shaker in the financial sector, what difference does it make? What went on in the financial world is not determinate on Obama' job and when he takes it.

And it ignores the fact that these financial palm readers and out-and-out guessers would STILL be wrong and making things up out of whole cloth (like IBM's inaugural had something to do with the down turn.)

20. EXCELLENT show! Loved the line where Stewart says something like,
"I could be a millionaire if I listened to CNBC--if I had a hundred million to start with!"

This was Stewart at not only his best but also at his most useful to his viewing public.

36. We've known that for quite sometime here!
I've often said that it is a shame that you get Runaway bride on CNN MSNBC ETC ETC while we get real news on Comedy Central! And we have been saying that for years here! Better yet go to
http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=826263
and watch Colbert tear Bush a new one on stage with him!
