Rush Limbaugh helped create todays Republican Party, so its only fitting that he would be the one to help destroy it. He is moving the GOP so far to the right, that most of the mainstream Republican leaders are doing all that they can to disown him. However, these efforts dont appear to be working, as more and more of the GOPs leaders are bowing down to their false idol, and moving their party closer to that fringe moonbat point of no return. Ring of Fire's Mike Papantonio talks with Congressman Chris Van Hollen, chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, who is doing everything possible to keep this Republican political infighting in the spotlight.

They have little left but their party's wingnut base, who love Rush and his ilk, and so they can't distance themselves from him so as to broaden their appeal. The task for Democrats in the run-up to 2010 is to reorient economic policy away from corporations and the rich, toward workers, the middle class, and the poor. If we're successful in that I think the Republicans are probably done for the forseeable future, because even less-wealthy people susceptible to Republican faux populism and culture war crap will mostly stick with us if we truly address their material interests. This means we have to keep New Democrat and Blue Dog types from driving policy.

At the same time, the more success we have, the more embittered and hate-crazed they'll become.
