Many of us got this video, produced by Geri Weis-Corbley after the 2004 campaign ended.

Here is what is written at the You Tube site.

In 2004 I worked as a grassroots volunteer in the Dean for America campaign to elect Howard Dean as president. When it was all over, I created this video, Love Letter to the Dean Campaign, featuring documentary footage I'd shot in Iowa, Wisconsin, Virginia, Maryland and DC. I used the Natalie Merchant song, "These Are Days," as my farewell message to all the friends I'd met on the campaign -- the campaign that would change internet politics forever... YouTube, which hadn't been invented at the time, is a great place to store this historic archive of events that were life-changing for so many. I hope you enjoy.

Thank you, Geri, for the memories.

1. Dear madfloridian, thank you so much for this video.
I'd been on a long haitus from politics when the Dean campaign happened. I didn't have the resources or even the energy to be part of it, but, in spite of myself, I kept checking to see how you were all doing.

My husband was all over it but I'd known too many Spaniards. There came a point when I thought, if these good people can work this hard, I can, too. You'll never know how much I appreciate you all.

2. The video is on the same DVD as the first Democracy Fest speech by Dean
after the campaign. So moving.

5. The introduction was by Martin Sheen.
It was a poem, but can't remember the author.

6. DAMN it was cold in Iowa
Great to see the Stormcenter again. It was so cold the morning of the caucuses it makes me shiver to think about it now. But what an adventure. And the speech, that speech he gave to us...tears all around. Tears of sorrow, yes, but tears also of joy and determination. We walked into that ballroom down but after Howard spoke we were ALL going to New Hampshire and get it back on track. I am still bitter about how it all went down.

Howard gave me my power back. I am, now and forever, a Dean Democrat

7. She did a good job on the video.
I wasn't in Iowa, but I remember all of it well.

Thanks for being there in that frigid weather.

8. That made me cry for what could have been
But I have great memories of the campaign. At my 1st Dean Meet-Up, which was held outside of a closed cafe, I met a wonderful woman that was a 72 year old retired school teacher named Lilah. She and I both realized that we needed a lot more organizing if we wanted to have successful Meet-Ups in our rural county. Together we did just that in our small town, as well as in another close by town. We put in long hours, but we loved every minute.

One week after sitting beside Lilah, listening to our SOS, Bill Bradbury (he was in the 1st group of climate messengers taught by Al Gore) give his presentation, she passed away. I will always be grateful for the time we spent together.

As I have said here many times, Howard Dean was the 1st presidential candidate to get me excited since George McGovern. Since that time, Dean has shown he is a hard working man w/integrity that truly loves our country. He should have been our president.

Thanks, mad!

9. Very moving story.
I think many still consider him the leader of the party in many many ways.
