The Ron Paul Giuliani dust up has made its way to The View and
prompts this discussion of US foreign policy/blowback etc. Elizabeth
Hasselbeck is predictably dense and annoying but it is worth it to watch
the panel take her on.
(This is a different show than the previously uploaded 9/11 View discussion)

2. Hasselbeck is exactly the type of bubblebrain that
keeps the sheep voting for repukes. "Terra, terra, terra.....There's no reason for terrorists to hate us. They just do..." I wish the View would kick her sorry ass off. She adds nothing to the show.

12. She had an extremely shallow analysis of the whole thing...
she is just nodding her head in lemming-like fashion and regurgitates the Fox "News" talking points.

24. she's too simple to be(?) ...well, no bay buchanon...
hasselback is a kid who saw a way to make herself a life- surely being a patriot (not that she ever thought of the details) was straight ahead goodness, but... she has found it is her side that is cruel, pro war and quick to justify lies when repubs need them etc.... she can't get off the bucking bronco, and if she 'changed sides' hasselbeck assumes they'll get ridda her, or worse. Notice Bruce Willis has saw the light- he says the same bastards who murdered JFK are still in power, which they are (natchery, the pigmedia never noticed)....
btw, if hasselback never argued the bushevik position, what would the show be like? Hasselback is a necessary part (though she seems to represent voice for power, she actually kinda hapless againt the others(?))

6. Absolutely one of the most willfully ignorant individuals I have ever seen.
Edited on Sat May-19-07 01:56 PM by BrklynLiberal
The arrogance and absolute total lack of any contact with reality is stupefying.

It is scary to me to know that she is reproducing and will be imparting that same level of ignorance and stupid arrogance to another generation.
I wonder if she will be using Dobson as the definer of her family values and child raising?

She and her ilk are going to bring this world to its knees, and then turn around and claim they had no idea that it would end up this way.
Hers is the exact mentality that led us into Iraq in the first place.
It is Bush and his cronies that have allowed this arrogant stupidity to florish, and actually encouraged it.

It is the same exact mentality that led to the rise of Hitler. I don't care if anyone thinks that is an overstated analogy. I truly believe that people who are willfully ignorant of what their government is really doing to them and to the world are the exact type that the Neo-Cons adore.

It is the most fertile ground for Fascism.

Remember Sinclair Lewis' quote:
When Fascism comes to America it will be carrying a cross and wrapped in
the flag.

Fascism:
The American Heritage Dictionary defines fascism as: "a system of government that exercises a dictatorship of the extreme right, typically through the merging of state and business leadership, together with belligerent nationalism."

That blond twit, Hasselbeck could be their poster girl...and she would be thrilled by the "honor"!!!!!!!!! She and her type are not harmless.
Here is another one of her type:

Makes me think of this-

I am not alone in this fear. This sign was not displayed in the US.
It was in GERMANY during Prez Shit-for-Brains European tour.
They should know Fascism/Nazism when they see it!

Edited on Sat May-19-07 02:19 PM by CGowen
where she talked about breast cancer, her mother died of it and maybe she thinks G.W. Bush will help by giving money for research.

I don't know what happened since 2004.

http://rncnyc2004.blogspot.com/2006/02/elisabeth-hasselbacks-rnc-speech.html

In a distant land, heroic men and women are risking their lives fighting for our freedom, our families, and our future -- and I deeply thank them, and their families, for their service.

On American soil, heroic women are fighting a different battle - a silent campaign for their freedom, their families, and their future. It is the fight against breast cancer.

.....

Perform self-breast-examinations, get clinical tests and annual mammograms. Donate to research, run in a race for the cure, join a three-day walk, or sponsor someone who does.

Most importantly, help me re-elect a leader in the fight against breast cancer who does not simply wish this disease away -- he wills it away through action.

If she isn't a shill, she should reconsider her admiration for Bush

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2007/01/25/eveningnews/main2400032.shtml

Funding for the National Cancer Institute had been going up steadily for a decade, but now President Bush wants to cut the funding for the second year in a row — this time by $40 million.

18. Have Hope
Senator Hillary Clinton was raised by Republicans and she is now a Democrat. I know bringing up Clinton does not make a great deal of Democrats happy when dealing with Republicans bring up their children. However, you can also think about Arianna Huffington. She was once a Republican and now she has moved to the left. She is even farther to the left than Clinton. So, just because Hasselback tries to bring up her kids as Republican does not mean they will be Republicans. They may grow up to be some of the biggest liberals.

25. these pics are amazing...
the first, of the bush cheney supporter thrilling at the IDEA of those fine americans producing in the white house - wow!
The second pic, of the Fuehrer gathered in discussion with the fine Aryan youth, brings tears to freerepubs eyes, i bet..the next pic, of the Chancellor greeting a future soldier for jesu- it is splendid, in a John Phillip Sousa, uplifting way....
the last picture suggests these men of the year are productive but scatalogically! Maybe it's what the girl in first picture is looking at(??)

Sheesh! Shut up and listen for once, please, blond lady! She just plain would not listen to anything, getting stuck on terror, terror, terror, and completely ignoring the point that it comes from somewhere and we might have had something to do with that.

Where does she get her talking points? Is she on Rove's e-mail list?

21. Paraphrasing
Hasselback should not tell someone not to do something if she is going to do the same thing. Behar was trying to paraphrase what Paul said at the debate when Hasselback broke in and said that was not what Paul said. Then Hasselback then tried to paraphrase what Paul said in a way that made it look worse than what he actually said. Granted Behar was paraphrase in a way that could be said to be make what Paul said sound better than what he said, but I guess Behar's paraphrase was closer to what was actually said than Hasselback's. However, Hasselback should not prevent other from paraphrasing when she plans to do the same thing in a worse way.

22. Middle East Policy Linked to 9/11
Am I the only one who has seen a ton of people and books linking American Middle East Policy to the 9/11 attacks. Yes, everything everyone has said in this post about Hasselback is true. I think one has to actually see and hear her talk to realize how stupid she is. I did wonder at one point if all she watches is Fox News. I cannot believe she said you hardly hear people link 9/11 to American Middle East Policy. I for one have heard tons of people make such statements.

23. With 60% unable to find Iraq on a map, I imagine a lot of things are possible

The US may be the world's only true superpower but global domination does not equal global knowledge. A new survey shows young Americans have what can only be described as shoddy geography skills, with six out of 10 unable to locate Iraq on a map and almost half incapable of pointing to the state of Mississippi.

..
The survey shows that, despite having invaded Iraq three years ago, six out of 10 Americans aged 18 to 24 cannot locate the country.
http://news.independent.co.uk/world/americas/article361584.ece

She is now 29, but maybe still not that sharp.

The blowback theory, Ron Paul cites is the official line expressed by CIA and others, but if she only watches FOX NEWS she could have said Iraq had something to do with 911.

9/11, Iraq: Cheney again claims tie (March 2007)

It's complicated to keep up with all the different stories.

Maybe she thinks there is only
1. Surprise attack by "Al-Qaeda", whoever and wherever they are.

or

2. "WTC 7 didn't just blow itself up!" like this Marine demonstrates
