4. And I quote:
"A Democrat in his youth, Specter joined the Republicans in 1966 ..." That's maybe 16 years tops, if he decided he was a Democrat at around 20 years of age - compare that to 43 years as a Republican. I'm not buying all the happy happy joy joy here, he saw which way the wind was blowing and jumped shipped.

I dare say that Matthews is an expert on the subject of doing anything to "keep his seat." Tucker no longer has one, and Scarborough's on the graveyard shift.

But seriously, folks, I say that PA should keep a nice progressive Dem on the back burner just to keep him honest.

7. Do anything including
running as a Democrat for reelection to the Senate seat that Chris Matthews sent up a few trial balloons about running for. Matthews is effectively not running for the senate in PA now, even though he said a couple months ago he wouldn't run. He's definitely not running now.

8. It's disturbing..
to say the least. Another sign that our government functions more as an oligarchy than a democracy.

17. Sour grapes much, Tweety?
Half of what Matthews said right there may have been correct but even so...

Specter was the only R that ever seemed to have a heart and brain.

18. I like Chris
may not always agree with him but I like his cheekiness."you may have principals as a voter but don't count on them having any" He said in January this year he wouldn't run for the senate even though he'd been toying with the idea. He's right about Specter. I sure don't trust Arlan.
