when he talked about his partner that died in the Tsunami did they think he was talking about a just a friend or a "business partner" ?

8. He barely survived it himself

They were vacationing in a hut/ cottage near the beach and were inside when the tsunami hit. They were in the hut when the first wave came onto shore and both managed to escape, but the second wave caught them up in a huge soup of debris. Nate nearly drown and lost sight of his partner when the waters started pulling back. His body was never found. :-(
