1. Dear Lord, what a collection of thugs
Haley Barbour, Jeb Bush, Mitt Romney, and the usual gang of suspects. I DO NOT WANT to live in any "New America" they can cook up.

How can someone like you sit back and complain about racism when your sitting here throwing out racial epithets?
ya old honkeys?
New America = old america when white guys ran things?
Please tell me you meant nothing racially derogatory there right?
I hope DU does not stand for these sort of divisive, reprehensible sort of name calling and derogatory remarks.
Theres no need of it im sorry.

Yes...I noticed the obvious racial diversity of the members shown and people shown in this ad. It was striking!

Edited on Sun May-03-09 04:57 PM by curiousdemo
It should be called National Council of Tired Losers. It reminds me of HYIP's, who fraud people, shut it down, and then come back with another name to fraud the same people.

10. I love how Cantor is in the center; he makes Sarah Palin look like Einstein.
But then again, who could they pick if they had to pick someone with brains?

Newt? (oh, yeah, we're supposed to think he's a genious- ROFL!)
Palin?
Bachmann?
George Allen? (is he still toast?)
Jeb?
Boehner?

Gawd, they're in trouble. Their idiocy will appeal to the 21%, but the vast moderate middle is generally full of reasonable, smart, educated people that occasionally like their leaders to open a book once in a while.

12. I kept waiting for the punchline - that narrator was straight out of SCTV !!!

Of course the punchline was visual -- all the usual OLD faces as part of a NEW council for America.

13. The ad would work better without all those old Republicans in suits.
It's kind of a stark contrast with the message of a "new America."
Yet another example of a Republican-style "grassroots" effort: A PR campaign led by multimillionaires.

15. So...
New America includes the 72 year old loser of last years election, the old Speaker of the House who is no longer in politics, and the relative of a one-term failure and a two-term failure as President?

I hope they keep this up. LOL

20. same shit. same claim.
I was watching C-SPAN today and saw Cantor and Romney spouting their same old naive, tried and failed policy. All these "new" Republicans have to offer are more tax-cuts for people who don't need them, union-busting, and more privatized "everything". I wonder how many times they can recycle failure; they have a real knack for it. I guess I shouldn't be surprised this is coming from a people that have a tradition for refusing to learn from history.

Quick side not: Funny how they were showing footage of Reagan and Eisenhower. Six out of the eight years Reagan was in office, he had taxes at 50% for the top earners; HE CONSIDERED TOP EARNERS THOSE WHO MADE $88,000(SINGLE) AND $115,000(MARRIED) as oppose to Obama's 39% for those making $250,000. And Eisenhower? 91% for those making $400,000 and 75% for those making $100,000.

Funny. I never hear these Conservative tea party-zombies ever call Reagan or Eisenhower a socialist.

22. I thought the posters were joking but there appeared to be NO
non-whites in this ad. I mean, even in the backup scenery like the school and so forth, I didn't see one non-white at all. Was I wrong?

Is this the best the GOPukes can come up with after their weekend at Bernie's?

I don't care how theGOPukes want to "brand" their party. It's dead and it stinks.
