1. Okay this is what I think...
First of all Peter King needs to watch MSNBC late night and on the weekends to see how VIOLENT the prisoners in the USA are.

Then ALL prisoners of the USA 'should be' held here on the land of the USA.

Next, dig a great big hole at Ground Zero.

Take all suspects to trial and if found guilty then take them straight to ground zero and use one bullet to the head to end their life before placing them in the big hole. Once all guilty parties have been place in the big hole cover them up and then build a monument to the victims of 911. All done and then move on.

In the old days people where hung sometimes without even a trial ... nowadays way TOO MUCH money is spent on appeals. Something needs to change. For American citizens that have been convicted of an outrageous crime and sentenced to the death penalty they stay on death row and cost hundreds of thousands of dollars to the taxpayers before they are put to death --- this is OUTRAGEOUS.

If the proof is there and they confess willingly --- put them to death and keep them out of society.

If someone kills me or my neighbor they SHOULD BE put to death so that they can not do it again.

Years ago on Oprah they did a segment about a girl that had been abducted and the man had cut off BOTH OF HER ARMS .. he went to jail and then to a mental institution for a short time and then HE WAS RELEASED !!! It is OUR COURT SYSTEM THAT HAS GONE CRAZY!!!

Anyone that has committed heinous crimes should be put to death because that is the right thing to do.

If we kill people, we are no better than those we are killing. Just like when we torture people, we are no better than those we are fighting.

If someone is a murderer they need to be permanently removed from society as a safety precaution and be administered punishment as a deterrent to the rest of society; you can do this without killing them. But why? Why do that as opposed to capital punishment? Because of fucking TAXES. That has to be one of the most warped things I've heard next to those who actually commit the crimes you speak of; letting tax ratios decide whether someone lives or dies. Good old conservatives.

I am by no means rich but I pay my taxes and the taxes I, like millions of Americans pay, aren't causing me nearly as much heartache as all the childish bickering and selfishness coming from the right. My taxes going down a bit because less people are on death row via capital punishment isn't going to make me feel better.

Don't get me wrong, if someone did that to one of my loved ones, I would want them dead, and I would want to be the one pulling the switch, but guess what, that doesn't make it moral. Anyone who has murdered anyone can tell you the "noble" reasons behind the action; but thats why it's the action that counts; not the excuse.

I apply this to our prisoners that were held on guantanamo bay; let them never walk as free men ever again, lock them up and keep them locked up for the rest of their lives; but killing unarmed captured terrorists, as satisfying as that may be, does not make us morally more advanced than the people we are at war with.

4. RE: Rep Hoekstra's remarks on not fearing terrorism in our country before
and Cenk's rebuttal with the Japanese detainees during WW II, it's another example of my belief that there's a direct correlation between how conservative you are and how ignorant you are on history.

10. "direct correlation between how conservative you are and how ignorant you are on history." -BINGO
It's actually EXTREMELY easy to shut down a conservative spewing their nonsense; KNOW-YOUR-HISTORY. History proves their failed ideology wrong over and over and over...

If one uses factual information and HISTORY they will NEVER lose an argument with a conservative.

5. K&R That is exactly it, Cenk. They don't want to know the facts.
They love spreading ignorance and hate. That is what they do best.

11. I think we have surpassed the realm of ignorance here.
Edited on Sun May-10-09 10:11 PM by Seldona
Take Rush for instance. He admitted to 'carrying water' for people he felt didn't deserve it after the '06 elections. The next day he was right back at it. Not to mention openly admitting to wanting President Obama to fail!

His listeners heard him say it, many of them anyway. Most of the rest have certainly heard about it, no doubt. Yet they choose to ignore the one or two true glimpses this disinformation specialist offers into what really motivates him and believe in his 'show?' That makes them stupid in my opinion, as politically incorrect as that may be to say.

Or take their idiotic belief that republicans are the fiscally 'conservative' ones, despite the reality that nearly every statistic goes against their belief. The facts are out there. Even liberal rags like Forbes have covered this stuff. :)

http://www.forbes.com/2004/07/20/cx_da_0720presidents.html

It has become like a game to these people, and they'll do just about anything they can to win. That includes willingly believing in easily debunked lies, and openly wishing for their own country to suffer, so they can attain power again.

I am sure there is much worse to come from these jokers. They really see us as the enemy, and themselves as persecuted, reality be damned.
