Baucus's Raucous Caucus: Doctors, Nurses and Activists Arrested Again for Protesting Exclusion of Single-Payer Advocates at Senate Hearing on Healthcare

Advocates of single-payer universal healthcare�the system favored by most Americans�continue to protest their exclusion from discussions on healthcare reform. On Tuesday, five doctors, nurses and single-payer advocates were arrested at a Senate Finance Committee hearing, bringing the total number of arrests in less than a week to thirteen. We speak with two of those arrested: Single Payer Action founder Russell Mokhiber and Dr. Margaret Flowers of Physicians for a National Health Program.

2. I have absolutely had it!

Corporate interests are calling all the shots in Washington and we, the Electorate, are getting the shaft! Baby steps and compromises won't work. Put Health insurance companies out of business and let them find a more constructive line of work.

It's ironic that we are required by law to have auto insurance, yet medical insurance is considered a luxury.

And having mentioned auto insurance & the fact that it's required by law, why not cut out the middle man & have a single-payer plan for that as well?

My city's newspaper provides a real estate magazine insert with a cover picture/story every Saturday. About 10 years ago, one particular cover picture showing a local State Farm executive's state-of-the-art, all-stainless steel backyard kitchen really upset me. I've never forgotten that picture.
