MSNBC The Ed Show w/ Ed Shultz - May 19, 2009:

JESSE VENTURA: "I personally am offended greatly by the fact that my country now tortures people. I don't like that a bit. It's very much like an old friend of mine used to say: 'Once the nose of the camel gets under the tent, there's no stopping the camel from being in the tent.' And when you start to waterboard, where will it end?"

3. Ed led with Obama's praise of Pelosi at the CAFE standards press conf today

Ed asked Jesse about Pelosi's political maneuvering, and Jesse called it all a "smokescreen" and that it was to distract from the real problems created by Bush and particularly Cheney.

10. The two quotes in the headlines and in the comments are the most important part.

It's actually a pretty short interview.

Transcripting is kind of difficult with my arthritic fingers, so I post first and then edit in the synopsis or the good stuff.

Ventura says Cheney is defending this stuff because that's what he would do, and also notes that he hopes that the Navy Seals will not condone torture, that we should not stoop to the level of our enemies. Ed also asks about the Coleman/Franken race in Minnesota. Ventura says Pawlenty should go with what the Supreme Court decides. "It's time to move on." In addition, says Ventura, Pawlenty has never had a private sector job in 35 years and "I think it's time as a Republican he find out what it's like to work in the private sector."
