1. "It's uniquely American."
Love it.

Even Fox News has given it up for this one. There's a term I learned back in Alabama for situations like our healthcare system: all back-ass-wards.

3. I can't wait to see this fucking movie!
I really think this movie is going to make a huge splash. Even more so the F911 did.

8. Michael comes through, again.
This looks fantastic- I can't wait to see it!

In his interview with Bill Maher last Friday,
Moore said a number of Republicans had
congratulated him after viewing 'Sicko' at
the Cannes Film Festival. That's a first.

We are the only industrialized nation I know
of without universal healthcare.

9. You go, Michael!
I'll actually break down and see this in a theater, instead of waiting for DVD. Oh, and I'll probably buy the DVD when that's available as well.

13. Looks like Michael Moore has another hit on his hands.
I'm so looking forward to seeing Sicko.

I'm in a health care bind myself right now. Up until May 1st I had coverage with Illinois Medicaid, but they dropped me and I now have what I suspect is a bone spur on my right foot.

My sister recommended a podiatrist and I'm going to call his office tomorrow to see if he'll see me. God only knows what this will cost, because if it is a bone spur, I'll have to have surgery to remove it.

Keep your fingers crossed for me.

18. Go Michael!
The situation in this country is ridiculous.

A year ago, I had my wisdom teeth out. The oral surgeon I went to told me that everything but $290 will be covered by my insurance. Fine. Paid the $290, had the operation. Then came time for billing. My dental insurance refused to cover this operation, because it was a medical operation, not a dental one. I didn't have any other insurance, the $750 a month needed for me to do COBRA being a *teensy* bit too much for me on my $600/week salary. Started getting bills for over $2000 from the oral surgeon. Told them I couldn't afford to pay them any more than $100/month. Did that for 3 months, and then got a letter from a collection agency. I spent MONTHS trying to fix this, reminding the oral surgeon that they had some nerve doing this, as it was on their advice that I had the surgery, thinking I could pay for it. Finally got it fixed, and 20 months later, my $290 surgery was finally paid off, by me. So glad I had insurance...

And, sadly, I'm actually one of the "lucky ones".

Hopefully this movie will open people's eyes!

19. I was crossing my fingers...
I have to go off of my company's insurance for a short time (temporarily dropping to part time), and I was a little nervous about it. Now with this movie and the revelations I am having after reading some material about the industry, this relatively healthy human being isn't so concerned about going off insurance, since it seems like whether you do or don't have insurance, you get royally screwed. Something's got to change!
