1. That didn't help my stereotype mental picture of Jews or Israelis.
Sorry...I flat ass think those punks need to be taught a lesson on respect and how to express themselves without four letter words.

What a total bunch of losers. I already have a damn hard time sympathizing with the Jews and the state of Israel. This video just made it worse....much worse I must admit.

4. Totally agree, I was completely floored...
they sounded like a bunch of wingnuts! For some reason, I had this image of young Israelis as a highly educated people with perhaps a bit more nuanced view of the world. Wow, I was wrong.

I'm not sure how that makes what I saw in the video any less disturbing. In fact it makes me more worried.

15. I guess some prejudices are more OK than others.
If you'd said this about gays or blacks or Muslims, you'd already be tombstoned by now. But since you only said it about joos, you're good to go.

2. I think Obama gets it....
We have molly-coddled Israel for the past 60 years. The time has come to tell them to seriously sit down and negotiate peace including all of the very difficult issues such as repariation, reparation payments, status of Jerusalem, etc. or we will cut off financial and military aid. It is that simple. We force their hand to negotiate openly and fairly with the other side.

I don't for a minute discount the violent nature of the Arab side. I'm not going to defend the rockets, suicide bombers, etc. but also realize that they have legitimate grievances that the Jews have failed to recognize or address.

Obama has the right idea...for the first time the U.S. will consider the legitimate claims of both sides, not just the Jews. I abhor what happened during the Holocaut but the time has come to move beyond that to deal with the issues facing these communities today.

If Israel refuses then no more money and we tell them, if you attack Iran you are on your own. We will NOT protect you with Patriot Missiles, etc. you are on your own. Israel needs to stop being babied and treated like any other ally.

in an article in the latest issue of Moment Magazine, headlined How Should Jews Treat Their Arab Neighbors? Friedman of the Bais Chana Institute of Jewish Studies in St. Paul, wrote in part

"I dont believe in western morality, i.e. dont kill civilians or children, dont destroy holy sites etc The only way to fight a moral war is the Jewish way: Destroy their holy sites. Kill men, women and children (and cattle)with their holy sites destroyed, they will stop believing that God is on their side."

As for right now it's on page three.

Popular Rabbi’s Comments on Treatment of Arabs Show a Different Side of Chabad

Like the best Chabad-Lubavitch rabbis, Manis Friedman has won the hearts of many unaffiliated Jews with his charismatic talks about love and God; it was Friedman who helped lead Bob Dylan into a relationship with Chabad.

But Friedman, who today travels the country as a Chabad speaker, showed a less warm and cuddly side when he was asked how he thinks Jews should treat their Arab neighbors.

“The only way to fight a moral war is the Jewish way: Destroy their holy sites. Kill men, women and children (and cattle),” Friedman wrote in response to the question posed by Moment Magazine for its “Ask the Rabbis” feature.

Friedman argued that if Israel followed this wisdom, there would be “no civilian casualties, no children in the line of fire, no false sense of righteousness, in fact, no war.”

“I don’t believe in Western morality,” he wrote. “Living by Torah values will make us a light unto the nations who suffer defeat because of a disastrous morality of human invention.”

10.  Joseph Dana, one of the co-creators of the video above, has written the following to explain
Update: Joseph Dana, one of the co-creators of the video above, has written the following to explain why he and Max Blumenthal made the video, and what he thinks it shows:

It’s about entitlement, stupid.

Max and I went on to the streets of Jerusalem at ten o’clock on a Wednesday to ascertain the feelings of the young population about Obama’s upcoming speech in Cairo. As is often the case, the streets of central Jerusalem were not filled with native Israelis but American Jews. Doubtlessly anyone who has visited Jerusalem has encountered the droves of American Jewish kids that are sent to Israel to study for a period of time from Teaneck or Westchester. We asked people a simple question, “What do you think of Obama and Israel?” Most of the people that we talked to were dual American Israeli citizens. The answers in this video reflect the education and worrisome perspectives that many American Jews harbor towards Israeli politics. The sense of entitlement that the American Jewish community has when it comes to Israeli policy is on full raw display in the words of these young adults.

Based on our interviews these people were from high socio economic backgrounds and had developed thoughts about current Israeli politics. The question is why more journalists are not covering this story. All you have to do is walk the streets of Jerusalem and you will find dozens of people that harbor the same beliefs. As a resident of Jerusalem, I can say that the people represented in this video are not members of a fringe group or simply drunk college kids. These people reflect the sentiments shared by many people in this country and this city. These people and their families are the core of the opposition to meaningful peace between Israel and her neighbors. This is what Obama is up against.

11. I watched this video right before bed last night
and I'm still thinking about it this morning.

I understand these kids are Americans, but even still it makes no sense. Who the hell is feeding these kids this bullshit?

It really makes me sad and confused.

18. What was this, spring break in Jerusalem? Max needs to find
some sober people, I'm thinking. And maybe some middle-aged, sober people/residents who know WTF they're even talking about.

Lots of party time places in Israel, obviously.

20. That's pretty depressing, but I'm not going to say you couldn't find the same
among drunk young men anywhere in the world. America, Europe, wherever. I take this more as a reminder of what in humanity we as peace-desiring people are up against, and not as any sort of glimpse into the mindset of Israelis or of Jews in particular.

21. your missing the message
the last kid in the video was the only one with a coherent point (I kid... but not really).

RACISM hides behind nationalism--- its universal, that's why the left should NEVER support national socialist states or states built upon an ethnic identity EVER, it breeds the same despicable feelings.

We're suppose to be the internationalist! That's the message of Max B's video
