This is a very effective PSA for seatbelts from Corzine. Not entirely political but worthwhile nonetheless.

13. Corzine PSA perpetuates a myth
The governor makes no mention of the reckless driving that
caused this "accident." Nor does he bother to
explain the dynamics of this particular crash or why he thinks
a seatbelt would have made such a big difference in his case.
Governor Corzine implores the public to please remember to
buckle up. He says nothing about speeding or reckless driving.

It's nice that the governor wants to do something to prevent
others from suffering as he has suffered. However, it is
appalling that he is using this tragic crash to help
perpetuate the myth that as long as people wear their
seatbelts, it is perfectly safe to drive recklessly, and that
we should all expect to walk away unscathed from any crash --
at any speed -- as long as we buckle up.

We call this The NASCAR Effect. It is the number-one road
safety problem in America today.

6. We knew that was coming but
it still made me tear up for the poignancy of it all.

Glad you're continuing to get better, Guv Corzine!

7. "I'm NJ Governor John Corzine, and I should be dead."
No punches were pulled in the scripting of this PSA. Damn, the experience has aged him, though. He still looks pretty darned haggard, and no surprise.

9. Yeah, his face doesn't look
so good but when he gets his strength back he can get into a health regimen and come back better than ever.

Poor thing has been through the MILL.

How's his state trooper driver doing?
