Like it or not, it is an art form and does have some very brilliant and creative people in it. Cornette has always been amazing whether entertaining or speaking his mind.

In case anyone is wondering what started this rant, a former ECW/WWE commentator named Joey Styles has been taking cheap shots and repeating right wing talking points in his twitter, etc. People in this business do a lot of infighting, but normally not about politics. Interesting to see.

I'd love to see someone put Jim DeMint in the figure four or the Boston crab right there on the Senate floor.

watching wrestling promos. The best shoot promos come from the heart and tap into what the audience is feeling and what they identify with. Dusty Rhodes does a promo on "Hard Times" where he strikes a populist chord that a Dem would be smart to emulate. He started it back in the 1980s, when people were hitting some tough times with the savings and loan crisis and the dark years of Reaganomics, drought etc. At the time his main rival was Ric Flair who was all dressed up in suits and represented a sleek, shifty corporate image, while Dusty was the chubby "plumber's son." People loved him for it. When I hear him do that promo it gives me chills. If I ever ran for office, I would probably do something similar. People feel that, it's entertainment but when you can make people forget just for a second and make them believe it's real and hit on something in their lives, that's a big deal.

Vince McMahon is a staunch republican. He even repremanded wrestlers who displayed Obama stickers or openly supported Democrats. I doubt Cornette will ever make it into the WWE hall of fame because Vince simply doesn't like him.

During the Iraq War he made Chris Nowinski's character a weak kneed anti-war liberal who sided with the Quebec-based, French-Canadian La Resistance (Vince had to slam the French in this as well) as heels against Patriotic "Pro-Troops" faces. It was sickening and the angle got a pretty mixed reaction from the audience so it was scrapped after a month or two. Either way it showed how sick Vince's mind is when it comes to politics.

Good for Jim Cornette. I'm sorry I didn't like him when he was in the WWF now. This guy is the fucking truth.

If you had ever seen Cornette in the old days when he used to shoot on RAW, you know he is capable of this vitriol. I loved the promo as he also used carny talk (heel, mark). Didn't agree with the 'All Star lineup' comment (some of Obama's cabinet are a little suspect) but I loved the passion of the rest.

Finally, the first clip I choose to listen to in the morning did not piss me off! This was straight to the point and reminded me of one of my Drill Sargents in basic training going off on me for not folding proper "nurse corners" on my bed!!

The guy is really smart and a good progressive. She invited him back because he was such a good interview / co-host and I don't think it happened. It was a good show. He talked about how many of the WWF guys are wingers.
