Boehner: Congress this year like 'standing in front of a machine gun'
@ 4:13 pm by Michael O'Brien

Count House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) among those who've been rankled by the flurry of legislation this year.

Boehner likened the onslaught of major bills this year to facing machine gun fire during an on-camera press conference Tuesday afternoon.

"Being in Congress this year has been like standing in front of a machine gun," Boehner said. "Whether it's the stimulus bill, the omnibus appropriations bill, whether it was the trillion-dollar deficits as far as the eye can see in the budget, whether it was taking over a health care system, a national energy tax, and now somebody is going to suggest we're going to do immigration reform in the midst of all this?"

"How much is enough" the GOP leader incredulously added, before adding that he's in the "doubtful" column about the Congress's ability to get all those priorities done this year.

The liberal watchdog Media Matters Action Network flagged Boehner's remarks Tuesday, arguing that Boehner was the third House Republican in recent days to invoke violence in describing the GOP's position.

7. The FRONT, John, is the part where the bullets fly out and kill the third-worlders.
Not where you stand.

8. He's APPALLED...
...that he might have to actually exert himself.

All's right with the world when he gets to throw his weight around, act important, be deferred to, and get red-carpet treatment 24/7 -- all while collecting a very generous salary and first-class bennies from the taxpayer-peons he sells out every day.

However, to actually expect him to work and put his staff to work on the people's business is for him "like facing machine gun fire."

Have I mentioned lately how much I hate this asshole?

11. Here's the translation
"I am such a pathetic wuss that simply having lots of work to do frightens me as much as machine gun fire would frighten a real man".

13. After years of doing nothing for the country, actual work must seem hard.
And takes his attention away from collecting money from lobbyists and all the rest of his slimy world.

You found time to raise your salary... how about taking care of business. You have a great health care plan for you and your stupid family. How about giving the American people one too. Effwad.

18. I've no love for Boehner whatsoever, but I don't think the analogy is that big a deal.
People use analogies like that all the time for all kinds of things.

22. Now he knows how the Dems felt during the Bush years
The only difference is that Bush wasn't reaching out to the Democratic Party to create true bi-partisan solutions. It was always either "My way or the highway."

"I've been in the minority party since January -- now I know how road kill feels."
