Rep. Keith Ellison takes the pledge -- will not vote for any health care bill that does not include a strong public option.

2. We must have a public option
Too many American's are being ripped off by the politicians and the profit machines. The health care system spends $ 1.4 Million per day lobbying Congress, that sure could go a long way to help so many folks who need health care. I know exactly what the outcome is of the status quo. http://www.wisecountyissues.com/?p=62 It's called quality health care in Tennessee and Virginia.

11. The Senate Democrats can put heath care in a budget bill and pass it with 51 votes.
There are two downsides:

a) It would have to be paid for within 5 years.

b) It couldn't add new regulations.

12. Sounds like divide and conquer
All they have to do is a get enough democrats to take this position, and then get enough to side with the republicans against a public option, and then they win - no public option
