But it's all the same, what Lee Stranahan illustrates -- follow the money and you'll learn why healthcare reform (to say nothing of public option) is opposed so adamantly by those who "work with the public's interest at heart."

Essentially we have a fascist government for the corporations and by the corporations. Is there any doubt?

I'm watching C-Span's Washington Journal right now. They just had on a retired colonel representing a right wing think tank (probably tax payer funded) telling us all how wonderful the Iraq War was/is. Basically he is an advocate of staying longer. Of course the host cited several articles in support and even played Dick Cheney's brilliant proclamation from yesterday. C-Span won't reply to my e-mail suggesting a bit more fairness would be warranted.

I mean imagine I came out tomorrow, and said "Hey, I built a better mousetrap. I'm going into business to sell it". Somebody might warn me that there is a lot of competition in the mousetrap business, but if I said I had a better product that I think will do fine on the market and I'm not going into debt to start my business, anybody would say "Okay, good luck with that!" Because if people didn't like my mousetrap over the others, they wouldn't buy it no loss. On the other hand, if I make it, its because I bought something better than what's already on the market. So its a win-win situation to try, to put my product on the market and see if people like it. At best a better product is offered, at worse nothing changes

In fact, the ONLY people who would EVER tell me absolutely NOT to go into business would be the mousetrap companies, because they know they have an inferior product which would be threatened and they know they cannot compete. Republicans have overtly said that private sector could not compete with a government option. But when you can't compete on a free market where people have choices of which product to choose, its because you have an inferior product, period. There is no other explanation. And the fact that private health insurance is an inferior product undermines all the arguments against public health care. So which is it? Private health insurance is better so people will choose it if they are given the choice and nobody will want the public option, or private health care can't compete with the government option because everybody will want it? The only alternative to those two is the belief that people, if given the choice, will choose an inferior product...and that belief undermines ALL free market thought, and is essentially an argument for centrally planned socialist government.

Sorry to rant at you, but imagining half of Americans nodding to the nonsense repug arguments puts me in a tizzy.

Every day I hear some TV talking head telling us how bad the public option would be. They are ramping up the anti-public option adds on TV now. Fewer people buy into their crap this time around.

You can be sure I will be making a call to Senator Liberman.

As a former health care giver and after seeing what is deemed, defended and supported as "the acceptable standards of health care" in Tennessee and Virginia I support public option. http://www.wisecountyissues.com/?p=62 Clearly profit care comes ahead of patient care.

We know which side LIEberman is on. And we'll remember when he comes up for re-election, too!

There are at least 100 principles of Judaism that he's broken in the last few years... and none of us are sacrificing goats or anything but COME ON!

His foreskin should be reattached with staples and no anesthesia.
And that whine makes my skin crawl. You know, the one where he apologizes for being a Democrat.
He has a well deserved place on the list with Max Baucus, the Nelsons, Diane Feinstein, Mary Landrieu and Evan Bayh.
If the Democratic grass/netroots does anything, it should be targeting the aforementioned senators for defeat in upcoming elections. They must be driven from the political landscape, shysters all.

They could fit right in, in the GOP.

I hope they all get sick.
