This morning Ben Stein was on the CBS Morning Show, and he was more ridiculous then ever.

Stein questioned if Obama was trying to do too much. ...As if a president could only handle one problem at a time.

Stein spoke about how Obama is trying to tackle, "Universal Healthcare, simulate the economy, revamp the car and truck industry, totally reorganize energy production use, to fix California's water problems, to help Michigan's distressed communities, and many many more chores"

...This RW pundit ignored bringing up our wars in the Middle East, -I'm sure the people who pay him would rather us forget about the wars as long as we're paying for them.

I nearly lost it when ol' Ben said, "...and please stop beating up on the oil industry." :puke:

Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert could have a field day on this clip.

2. We all know where this washed up nobody is coming from.
What a jack ass. Yeah.....like dubya...just focus on one thing at a time. Stay home and watch the stock market with ben. What an ass wipe!

It's going to take some time for idiots like this buffoon to realize that MORE THAN one person is working in this administration. Wow....we can do more than one thing at a time. How novel. And ever since ronnie alzheimber, we thought government was bad and could only do one thing at a time. Geeesh...got to rethink this again, eh?

What a dumb ass. For playing the part of someone with smarts, this guy certainly is a dumb ass.

4. Typical
Well considering George W. Bush had a hard time stringing together a coherent sentence I'm not surprised he thinks a President can only do one thing at a time. LOL

6. Takes a busy man to clean up 8 years of Bushes turds all over the world!
And in this country... when he was going down the "list" of what Obamas doing, I thought... Bush... bush... Bush... Yep, he's cleaning up the mess... so what's wrong with that?

7. Ben Stein's a sad sack.
He's going the way of Dennis Miller. Relegated to the occasional Faux Snooze appearance and infomercials. Good riddance. It is quite oxymoronic that he is painted/typecast as an intelligent character. He's a tool. He was wrong about the economy under Bush more often that Jim Cramer and Greenspan combined. Why these idiots continue to get airtime is beyond the pale. Our media need to wake up.

8. It's like they're almost afraid that Obama, by "doing too much", is going to set...
...a new standard of what the CiC should/could be doing and how much work is expected of him/her. I really don't understand this whole "afraid of long hours and hard work" mentality from the GOP. You would think they would be encouraging him since the more he does, the more opportunity they would have to pick him apart- or at least try to.

10. Ben Stein
prides himself as an expert on economics but he missed the derivative meltdown. Talk to your former president Ben who walked away from a disaster presidency leaving it for the next. Done nothing wrong?? No they don't influence foreign policy to expand their profits..they don't control supply but refusing to build more refineries..and of course seldom pay or underpay their royalties to the government for public drilling. They even get to decide how much they think they owe. Does the oil belong to them? Seems to me it's a natural resource that belongs to all of us...anyone anyone?

11. best indicator that Obama is kicking republican a#@$#
If I hadn't already thought Ben Stein was a dumbass, my jaw would have dropped. And yes to the poster who says the media needs to wake up and take these blowhards from yesteryear off. This is one more thing that makes television so lame.

And of course we've heard this argument before: it's actually a right wing talking point right now.

They want him to slow down so they can mobilize to block him.

12. The ONLY reason anyone even knows who Ben Stein is...
...is a bit role in a certain wildly successful John Hughes movie from the 80's known as Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Without this, he is precisely nothing except another shill for Friedmannian economical policies. He's made it known on several different occasions that he sees Richard Nixon as a great president. Not that this alone is shocking... many neoconservatives see how Nixon dealt with dissent and questioning of executive power as completely rational and necessary. But by championing the ideas of neoconservatism, he puts himself precisely opposed to democratic principles, which state clearly, "We don't need Ben Stein's (or any other self-aggrandizing wannabe think-tankers') permission or approval to change this country even if it makes him (them) cry a little." I hope he's stocked up on Clear Eyes because Ben's sadness is my joy.

Can anyone tell me what this is? Anyone? Anyone? This is my complete lack of sympathy for Ben Stein. Can anyone tell me what this means? Anyone? Anyone? It means that at this low-point here, which is where we are now, the amount of speaking out that Ben Stein does is inversely proportional to how much I care about it.

13. Ben Stein

...is a fascinating character.

As a snooty know-it-all type myself, I loved his show "Win Ben Stein's Money". It was fantastic and Ben showed off an encyclopedic knowledge on that show, along with a ready wit.

...then came his lavish aprobations of Rush Limbaugh.

...then came his hatchet-job anti-evolution propaganda screed "Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed."

Wow. How can anyone be so stupid and occasionally seem so smart?

It's so sad.

15. I was really surprised wHEN Ben Stein did that stupid creationism movie.
In it, he equates science and Darwinism with Nazism! The FUhrer believed in the strong surviving, therefore Darwinism is really Nazism. That's pretty much the argument.

16. Yeah, that’s just what we need,
Edited on Mon Aug-03-09 12:23 PM by W T F
a washed up actor telling the POTUS not to work so hard at his job.

And I suppose if he doesn’t take care of a problem while he's trying to fix another you wouldn't criticize him for not doing enough. Right? LOL!
STFU you right wing tool, dumbass! What the hell qualifies you to be any kind of expert on this matter anyway? You're an economist? Evidently not a very good one, since you had to supplement your income by working as a game show host. LOOSER!
