Rep. Green did a great job of owning those fools.

Glad to see CNN's AC360 just covered this too, they were exposing the tactics memo that's been going around.

7. Sometimes people don't understand what is in their best intersts...
Even if it's staring them in the face. People fear all types of change because they don't want to have less than they have now, even if the current times are bad. It's natural. The insurance industry is exploiting those fears... 1. Socialism... like the Cold War Era... fear. 2. Kills seniors... fear of death. Who votes in the greatest numbers... seniors.

4. It absolutely floors me that there are still people out there
who do not understand that their Medicare, or Grandma's Medicare is a government run program. I mean, I thought I had seen every variety of ignorant out there, but how on Earth does this fact escape these people? I love the fact that the Congressman in the video asked that question. I mean, DUH!

I am just shaking my head here, because I have heard that a lot of retirees (hey, they have time on their hands!) are at these town halls, but now that I see it with my own eyes, I am appalled at their ignorance (at best) or hypocrisy (at my most cynical). I applaud the lady who asked the crowd to raise their hands if they had health insurance and then said, "There's your answer, the people protesting this already have insurance." She nailed it. Ignoramuses, hypocrites, or both, those are the folks 'shouting and fussin'.

6. to them it's 'medicare', a 'right' they've paid for, and not 'govt run insurance', even though it is
it's all in the name, and impression of what 'medicare' is... shocking, isn't it?

hypocritical fools - you know that congressman was like, yeah, you dumb fools, do you understand that medicare is gov't run care???

15. Yep there's a lot of classism
More and more I hear people saying they don't want Universal Health care because "leeches" (their word and used quite often) will benefit.

OF course the majority of people who would benefit would be tax payers but I guess better that the "wrong people" don't get help.

5. KO's guest is correct ...
... in blaming the WH for not getting the message through. Bush was on the bully pulpit for the Iraq war all the time. Obama needs to do the same. And he needs to all out the lies, just like he died when he campaigned against McInsane.

8. Federal officials get govt-run health care. The military gets govt-run health care.
I bet they're pretty good, too.

How STUPID are these people that they can be convinced to vote against their self-interest? They do it time and again.

13. Exactly, Americans should demand the same health care
providers with the same coverage that congress gets for the same PERCENT of their INCOME. If a congress-person gets coverage for .05% of their income then every American should have the same coverage available at .05% of their income no matter what that income dollar amount is, if it's 5%, 10%, 12% whatever, it would be based on congressional pay in relation to premiums, as a percentage. No income = no cost.

I think that is something even the idiot republicans could agree with, uh, except that would be single payer......forget I mentioned it.

14. I too agree with Gene
With all the scare/obstruct tactics out there it's imperative the truth be out there too. Amazing isn't it..the people who don't want a public option already have government run health care. Well done Congressman Green and kudos to the lady in the meeting who stood up and showed their hypocrisy. I think it was Rachel Maddow last night who pointed out the revision to add a Living Will which many are touting now that will kill your grandpa was put in by republicans.
