15. No. They got the respect that was never shown them by Bush.

And as soon as they did, they released the young women. It was much more important for Bush to make enemies to frighten Americans with, than treat other nations with diplomatic respect.

That "photo op" was an assurance of a complete change in, if not policy, then attitude. Bush had them terrified that they would be attacked. They knew he was a coward who wouldn't attack any nation with nuclear power so they started reaching for it. As did Iran. They know that their nation will be vulnerable inside and out when Kim Jong Ill dies, which will be soon. They needed to be made less afraid. And THAT is what that "photo op" did.
