2. Not a comedy
A very important film, but there are no laughs in it. The movie makes you wonder what is wrong with America.

3. Not comedy in the traditional sense, no.
Moore uses satire to present the issue in such a way that it really makes you stop and think about every point, and scene you view in the movie.

The scene where he has the bull horn and he's calling for the medical care for the 9/11 workers, that they be treated as well as the 'evil doers'...while I didn't really laugh, it made me smile and cheer.

10. Lifestyles of the Rich and Sadistic
Here is another satirical film from a fellow American.

http://www.indymedia.ie/article/83083

This film uses satire to show the extraordinary costs of getting many of those 'evil doers' to Guantanamo. The decadence and luxury of the lifestyles of the Americans kidnapping suspects around the world really shocks when you recognise that US taxpayers are financing it at 500,000 dollars per subject rendered. And, yet, they have no universal healthcare.

My wife couldn't wake me up to see this after a hard day of "Honey do" chores. I love Michael for his incredible ability to enrage the wacko right. I predict this next movie will get another Oscar and a bunch more neo-con heads will pop like pimples in exasperation.

6. This isnt even about "left" or "right".....
This is about all of us. There are dems as well as repubs in the pockets of the insurance companies. There isnt a candidate out there, on either side, that is pushing full-blown universal healthcare. I think this would be good for everyone to see, no matter party affiliation.

7. There is one...
May I direct you to his website? http://kucinich.us/issues/universalhealth.php
A not for profit health care system that covers everybody. This one doesn't throw more money at the insurance industry and hope they fix it.

9. You are right...maybe I should have been more clear...
I meant candidate that has a shot at winning! His gun-control policy is not only laughable for someone who doesnt want to rely on the police to protect them, it downright alienates a large majority of people, I am sure.

I am one of the lucky folk that most of the time have had inurance (but not always) I work in a field that often does not provide worthwhile affordable insurance, and once I looked into COBRA - and that was like a SICK joke- could NOT afford it.
When my son was 2 he choked on something while playing in the back yard. He didn't stop breathing but he seemed to have some respiratory dificulties and the pediatrician said to have him checked out at the ER-(in case he aspirated) He did improve by the time he was seen, and was OK. Blue Cross and Shield denied the claim. I asked the BC&S claims person-If it was your child would YOU NOT do what the doctor ordered?
I also know many people who just have to get by with no insurance - including young working moms.
K&R for one of my heros!

11. I finally have insurance again after not having it for over 2 years.
Am on my husband's insurance he gets through his job. It costs us $378.00 a freaking month just for me. Disgusting. Just disgusting. Damnit, we NEED universal healthcare!

13. Jesus. I pay US$ 140 for two people over 30 and a 5 yo. In Brazil.
We get good care for it, too. No medicine coverage, though -- no private plan does that here. Then again, medicine is way cheaper here too. Lots of medicines that are patent-protected in the USA are not in Brazil, and generic brands are plentiful.

They don't do that out of the goodness of their hearts, mind you. It's affordable because it's regulated.
