I wonder if they really believe this bs though? Seems more like lipstick on a pig to me.

They aren't going to come out and admit they are being politically pummeled, in most cases. They want to create the illusion that they are doing great so perhaps they can get some of the people that jumped ship back.

It is to rather enjoyable to watch them become even more irrelevant, whatever it is they are trying to attempt. I have to admit I didn't think the bottom was going to be this low, and we have a long way to go before we can even see it yet.

He can't get over this glory moment at the Republican National
Convention  when he  announced the "Culture Wars".

6. I see where Buchanan's coming from.

Part of the Republican strategy is to "keep saying it until it sounds true". If they repeat it enough, people will start to believe it.
