DR. Hern describes how the wingnuts want a totallitarian theocratic state and that they'll use violence to get there. Pretty much the same as the Taliban. I came across a militia video and commented that they sound exactly like the Taliban. The response... "So what? You obviously hate Jesus!"

The ultra-radical fundies are a greater threat to democracy in America than al-Qaeda or the Taliban are. Seriously. This is scary.

I remember the right-wing rage under Clinton -- the conspiracy theories, the "Arkancide" garbage, militias, the Oklahoma City bombing, Waco -- and the rage is so much greater now, spawning mad protest mobs every time a new issue comes up. As Talking Heads had it, "Hold tight -- we're in for nasty weather."
