6. Coburn is an out and out capitalist. It's always about money
money money and not about what is necessary for the welfare of this country. It's funny isn't it, people obsessed with the buck have no problem foisting future generation indebtedness via the military industrial complex. I sure as hell haven't heard his concern for the US cost of war indebtedness, debilitating job loss or crucial educational needs. What has he done for the good of this country? Nothing. He is only concerned with the capitalists retaining their sufficating power stronghold and his next election.

8. If the Dems had been in power during 9/11,
would Coburn have said we were sure asking for that? Coburn all but legitimized acts of violence towards his own political colleagues.

It was a joy to watch Rachel on this show though, looking at Dick Armey like he was nuts. And his face seemed to get redder every time she spoke.

27. Yes, he is a licensed MD.
He was an accountant. He campaigned that he was "called" to be a doctor. He graduated from med school in 1983. He did a one year surgical internship. Then he completed his residency in family medicine that included obstetrics training. He is not board certified in any specialty. This is just hearsay but, I heard some doctors refer to him as a "dork" and an "asshole".

He is part of "The Family". As you know, Oklahoma is heavily populated with fundamentalist christians. They love him. Correspondence with him or his office is comical and infuriating at the same time.

There was no mention of his appearance on MTP in our newspapers or TV. Therefore, many (if not most) Oklahomans don't know the level of his ineptitude. Although, my grandmother said that she would not even cross the street to listen to Coburn. She was a smart lady. But, I digress. It is no surprise to me that Rachel can run circles around him intellectually.

23. Yeah... the BUSH government earned that ire. Truly, where is this a$$clown coming from?
Earned?
I'll show you EARNED.... wanna look at my 401K, long about September 2008, during the BUSH government?
And the bailouts -- Bush. TARP -- Bush.
Deficits, wars, wire taps, money laundering, mercenaries, cronyism.... BUSH government.

Yeah... plenty to EARN threats of violence.

But let's be clear -- during the BUSH government -- a Dem couldn't attend a town hall meeting, let alone even wear a t-shirt with a slogan that wasn't pre-approved, or find himself or herself staring a the cement walls of a cell.

Soooo.... DOCTOR Coburn, don't tell me about what government earned threats of violence. That would be .... YOUR PARTY'S GOVERNMENT.

AND what did we DO?

We voted the scum out of office. Now, stand aside and let us do what we voted to do.

Oh.... and.... STFU!!!

25. Coburn is a member of The Family of C Street & thinks abortion docs should be put to death
Link to mentions of Coburn in Jeff Sharlet's book on The Family:
http://books.google.com/books?id=NVmcx-8zdGEC&q=Coburn

"Coburn, an obstetrician, has advocated the death penalty for doctors who perform abortions. "
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A14759-2004Dec20.html

{from a 2004 article} And according to the online magazine Salon.com, at a political meeting held just last spring, Coburn warned his fellow Republicans that “the gay community has infiltrated the very centers of power in every area across this country, and they wield extreme power. {The gay} agenda is the greatest threat to our freedom that we face today.”
