Dean really argues back with her. Haven't had time to transcribe any of it. He does have a chance to say that it would be easy just to extend Medicare.

2. i can't help but wonder.... is she just playing devil's advocate, or is she trying to
sell this stupid co op thing??? obviously the co-ops couldn't possibly compete with private because the power is in the numbers.... the more people in the pool the better for everyone. I am at the point i can't even hear this stuff anymore I am getting so anxious and upset.

12. Can somebody explain this Co-Op thing to me?
I have heard the term recently, but to be honest I have no idea what it is.

13. as far as i know a co-op would be small groups of people
as opposed to one group. perhaps regionally?? i am not sure, but there is no way small groups in a pool can compete with the big guys. We need one big pool. the bigger the pool, the better the price will be for everyone in it. that's why big companies can get insurance cheaper than small businesses.... they have a lot more employees.

16. She's a straight up Republican, she's anti-health reform.
She said so basically on her show last week. She publicly said that if the debate was on health reform last fall, rather than the economy, we'd have something very different going on today. She even went as far as to say, however we'll never know now. Her guests couldn't even respond to that.

9. 'dirty word'
That is straight out of the Republican playbook. The same thing was done to the word 'liberal' they ridiculed and ridiculed and then started claiming it was now a 'dirty word' that no one wanted to be connected to. Being a proud liberal I think that is obvious bull but it is part of their larger propaganda package in controlling the framing and language used in the debate. If they can take our words away from us then the only way an idea can be discussed is the way they frame it. Whether this reporter did it on purpose or is just another dupe of right wing is hard to tell. Personally I don't pay much attention to what most of the talking heads have to say.

7. You are right. Picture of the New Team at the DLC website.
The way this group of spokespersons speak...you would think they were influenced by the DLC.

Oh, wait, they are.

This group is not about to let Dean anywhere near policy.

8. Medicare option for all should be the Public Option
Coops are a joke. They tried them here in Florida and they failed miserably because the insurance corporations killed them. Think $17,000 a year for 2 people with high deductibles is good? THAT's what you get with coops.

We should all have the option to join Medicare. That should be the public option, not the watered down, sell out crap being bounced around by the White House.

If we let the big insurance corporations win this time around, watch what they will do to all of us into the future.

Obama needs to stand up for the people that elected him!

11. We need to remove Baucus from health care talks --
of course, it should have been Howard Dean heading up these discussions --

Baucus is pre-owned and pre-bribed ....

as most of our elected representatives are!!!

I find her confusing, perhaps a little condescending in tone.
