3. for the Democrats to have a 60 seat majority and 'not have the votes' is embarrassing

and if they walk away at the end of the day and there is no good health care change, the Democrats who voted it down will be out anyway, so I don't understand how foolish the Blue Dogs are because they are more vulnerable to showing inaction because then a Republican will DEFINITELY fill their seat arguing they don't serve any purpose because after all that work, nothing was done.

12. This is the question that I have been asking my senators and congressman
And Joe was completely stumped by it. He covered his dumbfoundedness but not very well.

General Motors makes cars. Even Fidelity helps you invest your money wisely.

Insurance companies HAVE NO PRODUCT. Their only purpose is to collect your money, pay the doctors, etc. and ration healthcare.

Could you find a doctor without a health care insurance company?

Could the government collect your money and pay your doctor better than the insurance company does?

Of course.

When Benjamin Franklin began setting up fire departments, they were volunteer. Only later, did they become government-run. The government collects the money and hires the firemen. Same with police officers.

Doctors would not be direct government employees under a public insurance system. The government would replace the employers, collect your money and pay for the services you receive. Wealthy people would pay more. Healthy people would pay the same premiums as others in their pay-bracket but a smaller share of what they pay would go for services.

Those who could afford it and wanted it could buy extra insurance to cover extra services.

At this time, insurance companies spend too much money on executive salaries, expensive jet planes and advertising.

They would probably still spend enormous amounts on advertising if they had to compete with a public option. But word the best doctors would soon figure out that the public option paid just as well as the private ones and get on board.

No insurance company should be allowed to limit its doctors to taking only insurance company customers. Then doctors would soon prefer the government plan because it would have fewer constraints on care and less paperwork.

5. NO PUBLIC OPTION - INSTEAD, EXTEND MEDICARE FOR ALL!

heheheh, yes it is the same thing. But the idiots against it don't seem to notice so why not go with it.

6. That silence...
..was pure gold. That was the EXACT right question to ask.

How do the private insurance companies improve the health care situation - compared to a government run plan?

Where is the value?
