2. Weiner gives us the easy answer - and it's...
so simple.

We need to LISTEN to the critics and echo the Wingnuts' stupidity - frankly.
The Democrats need to come out and 'agree' with them.

NO SINGLE PAYER !!!
NO GOVERNMENT RUN HEALTH CARE !!!
WE'VE DECIDED INSTEAD JUST TO EXTEND MEDICARE TO ALL !!!!

taa daa! Since they have somehow convinced themselves Medicare is not government run, let's run with it as well.

7. Who is the real human being on this set?
It isn't the giddy la-la-ha-ha that surrounds "Morning Joe", that's fer sure.

He was served well by Rep Weiner.

Anthony Weiner explained it well enough. Perhaps he'll even be allowed to explain more Thursday, or perhaps that ass-hat Joe will have by then some retort (cause he needs lead time, plus window dressing around his shallow depth of general knowledge).

40. Joe; knows Congressman Weiner is correct but his institutional conflict of interest prevents
Edited on Wed Aug-19-09 01:16 PM by Uncle Joe
him from acknowledging it.

Why should the American People's health care dollars be converted in to insurance corporations' commercial dollars going to the corporate media? Why should insurance corporation CEO's and upper management; the same ones deciding where to spend those commercial dollars be making mega-bucks from the American People's health care dollars? Why should the American People's health care dollars be converted to "health" insurance corporate profits for stockholders? Why should the American People's health care dollars be converted to "health" insurance corporations' lobbying money to bribe the Peoples' Representatives.

Joe knows what the answers are, they shouldn't, but he won't or can't say that because he would be shooting him self in the foot and probably pissing his owners off.

I salute Congressman Weiner; for upholding his oath of office by actually working to represent the best interests of the American People/Nation instead of those narrow interests which primarily benefit either the "health" insurance corporations; or the Congress which recieves their lobbying money.:patriot:

12. Nice! You must be listening to Hartmann...
He's been advocating for a long time that the progressives in this nation need to learn how to use language to their benefit, as the right has done for decades. The right uses phrases like "pro-life" and "Patriot Act" while the left stumbles along with "SCHIP..." The Dems would do well to heed this advice: 1) Keep It Simple, Stupid and 2) use terms that invoke national pride, strength, and unity when discussing their plans

13. Weiner's great... love him. Joe and Mika are so creepy.
This format is like a guy with his little girl friend next to him giggling and joking about how she doesn't really poke him that hard, hehehe. This woman demeans women. She is paid to represent women as airheads. Very sad. And Creepy.

BTW Great point why give the insurance companies a cut on every dollar spent on health care?

In the U.K. the cost of health care is 6% of the GDP in the U.S. it is like 15% and growing ..... the difference is all
the money the insurance companies are making.

31. Insurance executives love socialized health care when it's good for them.
Think of how great it must be for their bottom lines to have a system such as Medicare that automatically removes their risk of having to take care of a lot of aging clients, those who will naturally need more care. The way they have it now lets them get the premiums from us during our healthier years, then pass us on to the government when we are starting to get expensive. You better believe insurance companies love the way Medicare is set up at present.

38. Wow, an actual debate on the ISSUES
No Nazi references, no "kill your grandma", no "death panels".

Rep. Weiner's postion was intelligent, simply stated, powerful and eloquent.

Unfortunately, all Joe got out of it was "You want the government to completely take over health care".
