...gonna cut through all this back and forth on having to fight for health-care reform...fight for the survival of the earth...fight for control of our own foreign policy and not for the one Israel decides for us...indeed having to fight for anything that corporate, and other powerful and loaded, interests don't want? The bottom line is that so long as we allow campaign spending to go along unchecked, politicians will continue to have an excuse to take as much money as the lobbyists are willing to give - most of which they (the pols) will never spend on their campaigns in the first place. These people have had a taste of the 'untold riches' and simply will not let it go.

Counties all over the world work to limit campaign spending - Germany has a system that I'm told works well - and with the proper controls and monitoring, our elected officials just might resort to 'doing the right thing' rather than 'doing the bidding of the long list of bidders'.

It's the money, stupid!
