the NRA and its cultists say that even anti-government hate groups like the Vipers have a God-given AND Constitutional "right" to carry their loaded guns in public. If someone tries to take their shiny guns away, they will scream, jump up and down, and throw a tantrum because then they won't be able to protect themselves from our government, or the rest of the bogeymen out there.

They didn't get the word that the South (as a group) already tried that, the Civil War is over, and the Constitution won.

Perhaps some in the "shadow government" feel that by doing this, at some point one of these nutjobs will let loose on someone, and either the secret service or some other police will respond with lethal force on them, and then institute Martial Law... They might figure that though we might reject such heavy handed efforts to institute Martial Law normally, that in this case, we'd stand out of the way while they "take care of the crazies" that we want to see being gotten rid of. And then of course you wonder how soon, if ever, Martial Law would be lifted.

Dick Cheney might be really smiling then!
