2. Couldn't even listen to the whole song...
where were these people when the Bush administration was making up their own rules? And cutting taxes for the richest people? And spying on them because they can? Argh!!!

3. Sheer satirical genius. It parodies itself with no extra effort on anyone else's part.
Truly, some people have immense talent that is barely recognized.

Probably not this fella, though.

More like the universe at large for making this intersecting bit of irony and stupidity as truly stunning as it is.

4. Listened to about the first 30 seconds of it
It sounded like a 100 other country songs I have heard....What is wrong with them that they have no creative force.

6. These are the people
who behave as though America exists so they can create their own "monsters from the Id", call them freedom, then slowly kill themselves and us with them.

give anything back so they can break it again.

10. I don't understand
What America do they want back. It's still the same place. I have to believe they think if they don't control the White House, the Congress, everything,we are headed for hell. Well, we lived there for 8 years and all I heard was "Get over it", or "Leave the country". I've seen these idiots at town halls, on web sites, on tv, and it comes down to two things...race and money. I can almost understand the race thing more than the money. Taxes are your dues to live here. I like the government. I think it is an honor and duty to pay taxes. I drive on the roads, like to know when a storm is coming, I like safe meat, Fema, Center for Disease Control, Social Security, Medicare, grants for education, Small Business Administration, and so much more. So all you idiots who are so willing to vote against your own self interests, detest any one different than you...get over it, we won. This is the USA and it has not gone anywhere, but maybe you should.

25. I think you have it backwards-
I find it easier to understand the money part of it. Not all right-wingers are racists. Most, but not all. And I'll just say here that racism is probably the stupidest of all humanity's vices. Even stupider than religious intolerance- but I digress.

Where you're going wrong with the money thing is that right-wingers see taxes in a fundamentally different way than you obviously do; They see paying taxes as the government robbing them of something that is theirs. In fact, the richer or more right wing a person is, the more likely they are to subscribe to the 'taxes are supposed to be voluntary' theory. Now, where the money to pay for the wars and defense budgets that they love so dearly is supposed to magically appear from I don't know, but I think we can safely assume that most of these people who complain the most vehemently about having to pay their taxes are the ones we could count on not to 'volunteer' anything if paying taxes were optional.

Some right wingers may get over their racism, but they will never see paying taxes the way you do.

11. When exactly did undereducated rural folk start taking credit for the greatness of this country?
Edited on Thu Aug-20-09 08:27 PM by bc3000

Poor agricultural countries are a dime a dozen. I'm getting tired of these people taking credit for the the wonderful advancements made by the United States when they and their ancestors have been the ones fighting tooth and nail against progress for the last 100 years.

12. The first part seemed alright. Could have been a Union song.
The visuals were odd for a "workn' stiff against The Man" song, but let's see what he's getting at...

Then he got to the "government making all new rules..." and, in the words of a great sage, "'Nuff Said!"

And besides it's your southern corpratist friends that makes it so all the jobs that involve your hands are going away, not Washington D.C.

16. Their corporatist friends are not necessarily southern
They are multinational, or live in a PO Box in the Cayman Islands. Unless you're talking about the southern corporatist caucus in the Senate, who only visit the Caymans every now and again to visit their money.

I'm not going to GIVE you anything. NO handouts for you, jerk!

You want your America back? How about winning an election? Oh, that's right, you cannot do that anymore, because you guys screwed things up so badly that We the People called you on it by a margin of over nine million votes.

20. People that write music like this are the same people that
want to send us back in time. To simpler days when we lived in log cabins, and hunted for all of our food. Momma stayed home with the babies while daddy went out with his rifle to provided for his family. Geeebus, give me a break!

I've got a new term for conservative redneck, back-ass faux patriots who spew this garbage. "Regressives".

22. Yeah the good ole days! When smallpox, measles and malaria were rampant!
If there was a drought, then say goodbye to having food for a while. Plus if you ran out of money, there was always an extra kid for you to earn some pennies at the factory. :sarcasm:
