Let them go ahead and have their damned march. It's against the law to CCW in DC without a permit and I would gladly watch the arrests on CSPAN :)

Seriously...this will fizzle as have others. Even the million man march wasn't even close. It will die of its own accord.

I get some wry amusement when I see those who used things like civil disobedience and upsetting signs/billboards when they were young and radical getting upset when the same techniques are used by those they now oppose. The irony is delcious. Those who demonstrated for free speech on campus are those now insisting on hidden away minuscule free speech zones on those same campuses.

In the example I brought up was the Poor Peoples March on Washington in the summer of 1968. Not sure many remember it. To my recollection it was the last really big attention getting demonstration in DC. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poor_People's_Campaign The recent Million {insert here} Marches have been minor. None of the anti war, pro war, anti abortion rallys have amounted to much either IMO. The gun nutter rally will similarly not amount to much, if it even happens

My point stands. A peaceful march is not remotely the same thing as a bunch of armed wingnuts marching on the mall. Not even close.

I do not believe that it will happen, and this march like all the other Million {insert here}Marches will be inconsequential.

a march would involve Federal property hence DC police would be out of the loop.

All it would take is one backfire or firecracker and you would end up with a major fire fight where nobody really knew what they were fighting about. Somebody gets made or has a few to many and decides he's carrying and he ain't gunna take nothin' from no liburl and decides to take a couple of shots to show em he ain't scared a them. Don't know how you would stop it. If they want to march for gun rights or whatever else they've decided to be outraged about fine but leave the guns at home.

Sounds like a plan :)

They need to deal with the fact that they no longer have any real power. Once the President decides to remove them from the process for never-ending obstruction, they will really go off.

I hope law enforcement is ready. These people are crazy.

Once they figure out that the public aren't going to vote them or their politicians back into power and that they truly have lost control of the country, its going to get much, much worse. These people don't respect the concept of democracy, and if they can't win in elections they will eventually resort to violence. I hope the FBI is preparing. The DHS did a report showing that right wing terror was going to get a lot worse, so I hope they are preparing for that.

...... jesus christ. If I ever see one of these assholes (not likely) in public, I will probably get arrested calling the dumb fuck names.

But my point being, these freepers hope there is going to be another civil war
but they dident win the first round, and taking on the government for a second
