This lady makes some good points about the Great Obstructionist Party's ignorance of the burgeoning health care crisis when they had the chance to do something. McCain's feeble answer: "we should have done more".

1. "we should have done more"..........United Healths profits could have been higher.
That is what he was thinking.

2. So did Coburn. Why don't the Dems run with this?
"I can't account for the five years before that," Coburn said. "But the fact is, is they didn't take advantage of any of the opportunities they had to make big changes, and they could have done this and they should have, but they didn't."

3. Turborama Thanks for posting the vid.
I looked for it on YouTube earlier this evening so I could post it on DU,
but it must not have been uploaded yet then over there!

There were some good vids that came out of the McCain town hall today :)

9. You're most welcome, I recommend subscribing to this channel, if you haven't already
They are a great resource for vids and they have possibly all the best bits from his town hall up now. I just saw you'd posted the clip with the lady calling him Kennedy and am about to K&R it. BTW, the other McCain one I posted is the full version. ;-)

4. Just cough it up, John. The Republicans did NOTHING all those years. NOTHING.
This jackass makes it sound like the Democrats tried to prevent the GOP from doing something.

They could have eliminated the "pre-existing condition" barrier. They did nothing all those years. Now, with their backs up against the wall, they are for doing something about that.

They could have provided portability of insurance from job to job. They did nothing all those years. Now, with their backs up against the wall, they are for doing something about that.

5. Of course...
the republicans did nothing, because they were getting too much money 'under the table' from the insurance and drug companies!

to tell her "But the Democrats have had Congress since 2007!" :eyes:

Ooh, I fought against it even though I was in the pocket of companies that were making profit profit profit! This guy doesn't give a damn about ordinary people.

18. What about the caption
Aside from the "shoulda/coulda/woulda" the captions were about how reform would be the end of private ins. companies since more Americans would prefer the gov't option. Where are they getting that from? Maybe I have to view the whole video...but really, if a gov't option existed, it would force the privates to become competitive (err, affordable). Why is that an issue?

Also, kudos to the lady - she worded her question so that McLame couldn't use his "well we were out of congress in 2006, blah blah" (although he tried). Good for her for pointing the finger at the repubs!!

20. I'm hearing his words
but he's not making much sense. Bottom line, Repubs were too busy blowing the surplus and lying us into invading and occupying Iraq. Health care reform was never on their radar screen.
