This wimpy Dem stuff has just got to stop. Harold is the chairman of the DLC which he says is the "policy shop" for the 08 nominee. He makes an outrageous statement.

From Newshounds:

http://www.newshounds.us/2007/06/24/harold_ford_jr_silent_as_hannity_accuses_democrats_of_emboldening_the_enemy_and_betraying_the_troops.php

Chalk up Harold Ford, Jr., up as another disappointing Democrat on FOX News. He didn’t seem to mind a bit when Sean Hannity claimed that Democrats have “emboldened the enemy and betrayed these troops,” or that the scripted introduction to his segment distorted the approval ratings for the Democratic Congress. Ford’s only “defense” of Democrats was to say that the country has a right to be “equally repulsed” with the president. With video.

..."When Hannity made the dubious claim that “(People) feel like (Democrats, as led by Senator Harry Reid) have emboldened the enemy and betrayed these troops,” Ford quickly said, “I don’t associate myself with (Harry Reid)” then offered his lame rebuttal that the country has a right to be "equally repulsed" with the president as with Democrats. That wasn't even faint praise!

Taylor Marsh is pretty outraged as well at her blog.

http://www.taylormarsh.com/archives_view.php?id=25798

Sean Hannity spews his typical rhetoric about "emboldening the enemy" and "betraying the troops," and what does Harold Ford, Jr. do?

Nothing. Zip. Doesn't say a word.

..."Now, Reid and I have our disagreements on how he handled the last supplemental, but Ford's comment is beyond outrageous.

I've also been extremely hard on Alan Colmes, but lately he's the only one of Fox "News" offering any push back for Democrats at all. He even had to do Ford's job for him. What's Ford's job? He's the head of the DLC. Worst performance by a Democrat ever.

Ford says DLC will be the policy shop for the 08 nominee.

Strange bedfellows indeed.

5. Ford was only favored in the mid-term because he claimed to be
a (d) and his opponent was a dyed in the wool neocon crook. The entire Ford family, as much as I have had the fortitude to determine, has been a crime family since forever, only democrats by tradition, and should have never been entrusted with public office. I would be ashamed to claim them.

I watched Ford many times, speaking on cspan, and have never held him in high regard. I regret that he did not win the seat he was trying for only because it would have allowed a more dispassionate attitude toward Lieberman. Ford's attainment of dlc office only confirms the picture. His lukewarm defense and lack of knowledge of democratic principles show his true colors and point up the shakiness of last fall's victories.

No, it would have given us a SECOND Lieberman.

11. Yeah, as I was typing, it crossed my mind that the two of them
would probably team up. As the democratic party, along with a leavening of independents, moves into a position of greater control of the strings of government, we must come down hard on the crooks and democrats of convenience.

The madhouse of criminality and cronyism must be broken up and there needs to be about fifty thousand big time crooks who need to lose their law licenses and be disbarred, as well as spend a lot of time in prison.
If the remaining politicians refuse to go after these crooks just because they may be rendered temporarily impotent on of removal from office, then those pols with bubble gum consciences must also face some severe penalties. We can no longer abide the mafia that has become the ruling class in America and the world.

16. He was showing everyone that he was a republicon...
throughout the election, I couldn't see the difference between him and the other candidate. He sucked up to Slannity everytime he showed up on the show. I think he is now paid to be on the show.

13. Harold Ford, and the DLC can bite me.
The "Policy Shop" for the '08 candidate? If that's true, I will run, not walk, so far away from this Party, they'll be eating my dust.

F*CK THE DLC, and Harold Ford, too.

17. Give Harold Ford a break!
You people all forget that Harold Ford was running for Senator from Tennessee, not New York or Massachusetts. A black man trying to win a race in a racist state. He had to turn conservative in order to have a chance. I myself am appalled at some of Harry Reed's statements. How in the hell did they name him Majority Leader?

from Reid that you are appalled by? That we lost the war? Pleeeze. Ford is a sellout. He is out of congress and now he wants a show on FOX and they are trying him out and I am sure they are very happy with him.

20. Three things
1. He didn't 'turn' conservative. He is conservative.

2. Harry REID is majority leader because all 49 Democrats (including Feingold), Barry Sanders and joe LIEberman voted him in.

3. Please feel free to name all the times that Sen Reid got out there and dissed other Democrats.

23. Ford is very judgemental of other people's Christianity.
He has been that way on TV, he thinks no one is as good Christian as he is. He made an ad in a church, showing how religious he was. He went so far right in the election that he lost because they voted for the real Republican.

but any Democrat that goes on Faux as a "contributor" needs his or her head examined.

And she and Bill were in on the founding of The Third Way as well, along with Blair and Schroeder...I forgot the others.

That way seems to forget the regular folks in the party and please the corporations.
