and what happens when crooks are given jobs of great responsibility and never brought to account.
America is now like a battered wife in that we merely groan and are ashamed but we are not standing up and fighting back.
This is another huge black eye on America...just one more from our abusers.
This is just sick and more of the same as what is going on in our prisons in the military and even in private ones.
When private companies and contractors are given immunity and no one is held accountable in high public offices.......insanity reigns.

what the military traditionally has done is financially insane, an anchor on the military's moral and ultimately a threat to national security.

As mercenary/contractors get paid far more than their military counterparts, I believe the average is 6xs; mercenaries are akin to a growing tapeworm on the military, the publics' military/defense can only become weaker as dependence on loose cannon, for profit mercenaires grow.

In effect the American People are paying a rapidly growing percentage of their precious public defense dollars to for profit mercenary corporations while the nation's military gets shortchanged.

There is no sound, defense based, logical reason for doing this, but there is a political reason, restarting a draft would be politically unpopular and that's what this all boils down to. The nation's political leaders should find the inner fortitude and courage to either scale back military commitments or reinstate a draft.

Loot the taxpaying citizens to pay for adventure and pillage in foreign lands. I'm glad that I lived during the zenith of America and hope to be long gone before the nadir arrives.

post- 9-11, and the stress is very high (check the suicide rate). Do they enlist and try to go another 10 plus years in the likelihood they will be deployed two or three more times, or get out and lose the socialized safety net? It's got to be tough on morale for our soldiers to see how the "other half," or 3/4ths, live, while the grunts are in the field earning minimum wage as they fight for their lives.

If Clinton wants to carve her initials in the State Dept., she'll remove these contractor assholes from the budget,, asap.
