6. No, Rove does not have a point. The European plans are far, far cheaper
than our private insurance. They have neither the fraud nor the executive salaries and other overhead costs, and they cover pretty much everything. That is why nearly all medical outcome statistics including life expectancy are better in Europe. I lived there for quite a few years. I loved the European plans (lived in four countries while my husband taught English and other languages).

2. He's absolutely right
I'm sure nobody could beat a private insurance company at denying claims and rescinding coverage when a big ass bonus is on the line. When it comes to actually providing care though I notice he doesn't bother to claim that the private insurance companies are worth a baggie of dog shit.

3. Rove may be right but he is overlooking a big point.
If they are more efficient, they should be cheaper and private insurers are not cheaper. I hope that Dean pointed that out.

11. 'Efficiency' in for-profit insurance is all smoke and mirrors.
When an insurance company saves money, it doesn't pass the savings along to the consumer- it merely means more profits and possibly a higher dividend to the stockholders or bigger bonus to executives.

4. Look
the private insurance companies dump everyone into medicare at 65. Just when things start getting really expensive they dump them on the taxpayers.

5. Exactly, the older you get the more expensive it gets.
Those last few years cost more than the total for the previous years of your life.

10. Um...
Wouldn't it be the private for-profit health care industry that's defrauding Medicare?? Is that what he means by efficiency??
