Before the doors opened, the line of people waiting to enter had stretched four or five blocks around the Target Center. Some reportedly had gathered before midnight last night to wait.

Billed as a "health care reform rally, the event is scheduled to begin 12:30 p.m. Seating will be on a first-come, first-serve basis, and airport-style security measures will be in place. No bags, sharp objects, umbrellas, liquids, strollers or signs will be permitted inside.

Obama is scheduled to leave the Twin Cities at 2:30 p.m.

OK, the ever-shifting details of President Obama's Saturday health care speech have finally settled. According to the White House, it's at Target Center, the program begins at 12:30 p.m., and the doors open on a first-come, first-served basis at 9:30 a.m.
Yes, there's a Twins game that starts 20 minutes before the program starts, and yes, the Gophers open tailgating 10 minutes before that (even though the stadium opener kickoff is 6 p.m.).
From the White House media release:
This event is free and open to the public. Space is available on a first come, first serve basis. No ticket is required.
All attendees will go through airport-like security and should bring as few personal items as possible. No bags, no sharp objects, no umbrellas, no liquids, no strollers, and no signs will be allowed into the venue. Cameras are permitted.
According to the itinerary, Air Force One is scheduled to touch down at the Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport's Air National Guard location at 12:20 p.m.

Now that is one lame 'news organization'.

My guess, there will be more people at O's event than in DC. But that's not news. It is a regular occurrence.
