This video was shot yesterday afternoon at the eviction of Rosemary Williams, a woman who became a leader in the fight against foreclosures. While Rosemary has now forcibly removed from her home she has vowed to keep fighting to get her home back and defend others facing foreclosure.

The police brutality in this video is outrageous and the Minneapolis police need to be held accountable for their actions.

2. I'm going to spend the next week indulging in a certain fantasy.
That fat pig fucker cop with the pepper spray? I still have a good hundred pounds on him, but I'm doing a wonderful job losing weight as a committed vegan now.

I'm going to continue motivating myself by dreaming about rewarding his courage by sitting naked on his face after eating about 3 pounds of leafy greens and just letting my plumbing rip.

That callous fucking son of a bitch!

Rant over. Sorry about the nasty visual. Or not....

3. ahh. that reminds me why I don't wanna go there right now
Twin Cities pretty much a police state. I've got a cousin living nearby and a friend. They can't do much about that. But I don't wanna be spending much money near there till they fix their police corruption problem there.

4. I think its time America fought back against this crap a little more forcefully....
These officers need to be fired now! We all see them kicking this poor lady while she is flat on her back! I am outraged! This is bullshit!
We need to come out in mass for any forclosure we see.
We need to stop texting and blogging and start acting (in a legal manner of course)and "kick" a few tushes ourselves. Starting with kicking that asshole that was kicking her out of a job.
The police are out of control now in America. A citizen needs to more afraid of the police then a "terrorist".
Anyone got some numbers to post that we can call? Anyone got ideas of what to do?>>>>> this has to stop.

7. Here are some people to contact
You can e-mail the Minneapolis Police Department here:

police@ci.minneapolis.mn.us

You can also call the following people:

Minneapolis Mayor RT Rybak: (612) 673-2100
Congressman Keith Ellison: (612) 522-1212
Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman: 612-348-5550

If you are in the Twin Cities area there are sure to be actions on this as well, as this just happened I don't know yet at this point what is being organized but I do know that the police picked the wrong group of people to brutalize, because I know some of these people and they are very dedicated activists who will work very hard to hold the police accountable. The primary organization which organized this action is the Minnesota Coalition for a People's Bailout, you can get updates on what is happening here:
http://www.mn-peoples-bailout.org/ or by joining their Facebook group here: http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/group.php?gid=45900887695

Rosemary Williams and Supporters to Announce Future Plans

On Sunday, Sept. 13, 2:00 p.m., Rosemary Williams, neighbors and supporters will gather in front of her boarded-up home at 3138 Clinton Ave S in Minneapolis.

At the press conference, Rosemary Williams, the Minnesota Coalition for a People’s Bailout and the Poor People’s Economic Human Rights Campaign will announce future plans to fight against foreclosures and evictions, including continuing the fight for a moratorium. There will be a chance to hear from other foreclosure resisters who plan to stay in their homes. The groups will also provide more details about the events of Sept. 11, when seven people went to jail for protesting the eviction of Ms. Williams.

To say the house is simply boarded up is an understatement - GMAC ordered the installation of thick metal shields over the windows and doors, giving the house a prison-like appearance. Police used plastic handcuffs to lock the gate.

Ms. Williams has been waging an epic battle to keep the family home in the family. Her frustrations in dealing with stonewalling, unresponsive banks have been repeated a million times over across the country, resulting in boarded up houses like Rosemary’s. Meanwhile, families go homeless and neighborhoods crumble as banks and financial institutions sit on billions in bailout dollars.

The events of Friday night have strengthened the resolve of many to keep up the fight against this irrational, cruel situation. Best of all, it is inspiring others to join the struggle.

5. and now you know what they did to the union organizers
of the 30s. Only they had many more and the ability to bust skulls and shoot to kill.

Tell us again what "to protect and serve" means.

8. You don't have to go back that far for evidence
that the police are out of control.

Police brutality sparked the fires that burned cities during the '60s. In fact, police brutality gave birth to the Panthers. The Panthers emerged to police the police.

10. Yah, I know..and I also know what they did to my mom and the other ladies...
when they fought to have a laundry workers union in Wyoming.
All the ladies wanted was a railing so when the women passed out from the terrible heat, they wouldnt fall from the upper floor into the hot presses on the main floor. Oh yes, that and some salt tablets.
They brought in off duty cops and thugs and beat some of the ladies with monkey wrenches.
I am proud to say, my mom stayed fighting and helped bring in the very first laundry workers union there.

13. Thank you, that is very kind of you.
Yes she was an amazing woman. She passed away 16 years ago on Mother's day of cancer of the stomach..another victim of bad diagnoses and sloppy care.
She tried for a number of years to get medical help and her dr (who has also passed away) kept telling her it was "all in your head/female problems".
However, when momma died, the whole town showed up..clear out into the streets they stood and down the block and the mayors office sent flowers.
My older sister saw a little old lady bend over mom's casket and tuck something into her hand and later saw mom was holding a little bouquet of violets.
When my sister thanked her..the lady said...well honey...I wanted to give her something as your momma was a friend to me when I most needed it.
That was her best legacy. She was a friend to the whole town and to anyone who needed it.

14. Do you have links for your mom's story
and the other women who fought.

Rosemary is 1 of 5 women vowing to stay in their home. That is probably why the police were so bad.. so it would scare the other women. But when I got there later after those arrested were taken away.. we chanted and yelled as the 30plus cops stood there as they boarded up the house.

Many of the cops looked sad.. not arrogrant,, not like jerks.. just sad. So we are going to make it hard on them also.

Several of the people arrested when to hand out flyers at the Obama event at Target center today, and one of the woman who has arrested has a sore from when the cops sprayed pepper spray in her mouth.

I asked her if it was worth it and she said Hell Yea! We Women have to Stick Together.

So I think Your mom's story will live on to encourage and give other women strength

18. hmm well if there was any news on it..you would find it in back issues of the Sheridan Press,
in Sheridan Wyoming.
I was just a little kid so I don't remember the date or if it even made the news.
I am over 60 years old now so it would have to be about 50 or so years ago.
I would also have to ask my sisters and my brother if they want this done or not.

19. On behalf of my mom and family...I thank you for your kindness.
There were other women there as well and some got bruised up far worse than our mom.
I am sorry, I don't remember their names..I was just a kid at the time.
I do remember it was the only Laundrymat in town in Sheridan Wyoming at the time.

16. Let's face it, the people hiring and directing these police jerks are the ones
we need to go after --

But this officer and any others who participated should be fired !!

21. I am always speechless when viewing...
...these videos. One day some of these police officers are going to seriously regret this sort of brutality. At some point the people will have had enough.
