2. KOS noted that wilson was one of 7 who objected
to removing the Confederate Flag from SC. He's no 'innocent' on the subject.

5. Don't trust O'Donnell: used rascism against JE; defended Obama's Reagan comments
Edited on Wed Sep-16-09 02:39 AM by unc70
Larry O'Donnell is solidly DLC while often seeming the stereotype for "liberal elite" in his appearances on McLaughlin, KO, etc. He was at the center of several DU firestorms in early 2008.

First, on HuffingtonPost he asserted that if John Edwards did not drop out of the race, he would earn condemnation by liberals as "nothing other than the Southern white man who stood in the way of the black man".

A few days later O'Donnell was strongly backing Obama's statements in praise of Reagan, leading to some DU threads with over 300 replies and 300 recs each.

Tonight, I find it ironic that O'Donnell was happy to use Carter's statements (slightly amplified) about race, when in the past he had often criticized Carter, especially in the aftermath of Obama's comments about Reagan in Jan 08.

9. Around the 4:02 mark and on, O'lbermann and O'Donnell missed a golden opportunity to set the record
straight.

That's when O'lbermann began to ask O'donnell "If there was any other possible explanation; than racism to explain the town hall or "road rage" toward health care reform under the Obama Administration" They both laid it solely on racism's doorstep as if this happens in a vacuum, without addressing the elephant in the room that being the corporate media propaganda bullshit machine's role in all this.

The corporate media has abandoned it's role in trying to actually educate and or enlighten the American People regarding the critical issues of the day, including health care. They obfuscated and or ignored the meat and potatoes of the issue while feeding the people half truths, fear and hatred, it's no wonder many people are doubtful, fearful or confused.

The corporate media has an obvious conflict of interest, their corporate advertising and commercial buying clients would lose out under the best scenario; for the American People that being Medicare for everyone from the cradle to the grave, as a result the corporate media has played a large role in dividing the nation by brain washing the people with fear and hatred as a means to defeat serious and beneficial health care reform.

10. Very good points
Excellently made. This is why channels like Al Jazeera English and BBC World are so important. They seem like the only news channels out there that aren't funded by advertising and you can see it in the quality and breadth of their reporting.

If anyone wants to check them out, they are available here for free:

http://www.livestation.com/channels/10-bbc_world_news_english">BBC World

http://www.livestation.com/channels/3/">Al Jazeera English

I recommend downloading the player http://www.livestation.com/downloads">here for uninterrupted and better quality viewing.

When Al Jazeera English becomes MSM in America we'll see the bar for quality reporting set much higher.
