Note: Prior to Congressman Pete Olson (R-TX) town hall meeting, they posted a sign on the door "No Video Cameras", just as predicted.

Below is a video of Congressman Pete Olson first making a joke about Joe Wilson's disrespectful "you lie" comment to the President of the United States on the House floor, (which he has not denounced) then condemns those in the audience when they do it to him.

He then tells the same story as he did in LaMarque about the little boy with a heart defect, shamelessly trying to use it for political points, but he gets called out on it by many in the crowd. This eventually turns nasty with a scuffle breaking out and the police putting a stop to the meeting.

Pete Olson lost control of his town hall because he was acting like an asshole. It is that simple. Just a plain 100% asshole. He deserved everything that was thrown at him.

What was that story, and how was it supposed to be about the public option? How would the public option have made that kid's life impossible?

It's a leap of fear to assume that and as you said there are MANY other stories out there, most of which are cases where this kind of care would have been denied by a private insurer. Here is where Olsen exploits the story to denegrate the public option.

You were really really courageous for making this video and totally undermined Olson's argument and emotional exploitation of this kid that a public option would be worse than the system they faced when she was turned down. It reminds me of that argument that was ciruculating a few weeks ago that Steven Hawkins would not be alive today with "socialized" medicine. No matter that England where he lives has a National Health Service that has given him outstanding care throughout his life for half the cost of what it would cost here.

Now, let's be a moral and decent society by having at least a Public Option so many, many more may not only survive, but get the basic well care and health care they may need.
