During my afternoon of running from ear drum piercing sonic weapons and tear gas canisters while being chased in circles by dog and baton wielding cops in working class neighborhoods miles from the convention center I had the opportunity to talk to a lot of locals. Here's what they said ... with a small dose of riot porn on the side.

4. There is nothing like Corporatism Warping a Democracy
imagine that... we are no longer allowed to protest without facing the potential of being shot at. Yet a Tea Bagger can bring a gun to a Town Hall Meeting to protest Healthcare Reform.

3. Being from the Pittsburgh area
Natives to the area are really upset and confused by the damage caused by these "protesters." What point are they trying to make? If your friend is not from the Pittsburgh area, can I get his home address so a few of us can go to his house and smash his windows?

17. Really, those anarchists idiots are going to apologize?
The protesters from yesterday who caused the damage are idiots, plain and simple.

9. Dude, Butler is hardly the "Pittsburgh area"
You're well over an hour from the city. I grew up in Freeport, and that wasn't even really "Pittsburgh area" until the last 10-15 years when sprawl finally made its way out there.

I sincerely doubt that many anarchists are showing up on your front doorstep.... :eyes:

I was in the city of Pitttsburgh yesterday and got stuck on an exit ramp for half an hour trying to enter on the Parkway East because VIPs were travelling to a dinner function at the Phipps. Normally, I am in Pittsburgh 2 or 3 days a week. So, how can I not be from the "Pittsburgh area" when I am in Pittsburgh so much?
And Butler is in the Pittsburgh metropolitan area. So is Freeport.
Are you in charge of determining the metropolitan areas for the government and suddenly decided Butler County is no longer in the Pittsburgh area?
So, what was your G-20 experience in the "Pittsburgh area" yesterday?

29. Of course, it's also possible that at least some of the "damage"
was done by police provacateurs. It's an old trick, used by Daley in Chicago and Brezhnev in Prague.

25. Hell no. Why should I help you harm someone who didn't harm you?
My friend was not one of the black-masked "anarchist" kids, so he's not to blame for the damage.

As Seattle '98 proved, the shock troops would've been called in no matter what.

32. Again. You don't know what you're talking about.
I've already posted for you how the police were denying protesters WITH PERMITS.

People were arrested for breaking windows. YOU would deny them the right to even march.

What have you to say about the 912 teabagger bunch? Were they idiots too?
