3. That's OK. My husband worked for a co. that offered
several plans. There was single, married husband & wife, & a family plan that covered maternity & children. Yes, the Family plan was a bit more expensive...maybe $35 a month, but there are plans now that give the consumer the option.

4. How about Mrs. Kyl? How about Kyl's mistress?
I'm sure the women in life need maternity care. Or does the senator believe that it is a matter of personal responsibility to be a male of the species?

5. Senator Kyl, I am sure they would be happy to not charge you
for a maternity care clause in your personal contract. Substance Abuse may be a different story...

6. I do not need Maternity care
This unproductive banter is why we still do not have the
Health care issue resolved yet and as 90% of Congress has not
even read the bill how can they even comment on it much less
vote on it.
Strong tort reform will help solve the problem.
I currently pay around $500.00 per month for health insurance
for me and my family and with good tort reform it would be
closer to $300.00 and over half the workers at my company have
no health insurance at all as they prefer to spend there money
on boats and German made cars so they need the public option
so they will not be part of the 30 million uninsured or worse
yet die due to lack of insurance.

9. spoken like a true republican
tort reform means that as an individual you will give up your right to sue. tort reform is only for the little guy. here's a hint trial lawyers are the representatives for the working class.

10. Enjoy your (brief) stay, and thanks for the RW talking points.
Edited on Fri Sep-25-09 12:41 PM by Bleacher Creature
Most studies attribute about 3% of medical costs to frivolous lawsuits -- and that's on the high side. Creating a barrier to the legal system for both legitimate and illegitimate claims will likely save you $15/month, and at a cost of depriving countless others (and maybe you some day) of an opportunity to obtain redress for a wrong.

And you can bite me on the "90% of Congress has not even read the bill" crap.

13. States that have passed tort reform laws have NOT seen a reduction in premium
in fact, they've seen increases at the same level as other states, if not more.

sorry freeper.

25. good for you, then. What do you want? A medal or something?
I want maternity care included in health insurance.. and so does civilized society.

And what your co-workers do with their money is non sequitur to the issue, not to mention none of your business.

26. 90% of Congress has not even read the bill
Which bill....from which committee? There is no "the Bill". 90 % of Congress isn't voting on any of the bills yet.

Try reality the next time you make a point. This is not Freeper La-la Land, y'know.

7. And I don't need prostate checks or Viagra.
Therefore they should be both be stricken from everyone's health care coverage.

What say you, Kyl, when it's your little blue friends are at stake? (and yes, I'm referring to more than the pills)

29. Nothing could be more telling ...
as to the difference between liberal/progressive and conservative thought ... the "I" part is the basis for everything. Liberals/progressives can contemplate having a need; and as such, look to protect those that do, in order to insure their need will be met ... should the need arise. If it need doesn't arise, liberals/progressives have advanced society because SOMEONE's need has been met. Whereas, conservatives want to believe that they will never be met with misfortune or need; therefore, they oppose helping others ... until they actually has a need, then they are first in line to have the public meet their need.

30. Wow - guess you could call this
"rationed care" ... I thought the Dems only have privy to that! BTW - Kyl has four grandchildren, here:

http://kyl.senate.gov/contact.cfm

Contact him and ask how would he feel if his grandchildren were to go bankrupt in their future if they decided they wanted children. I did, felt pretty good too...
